This series tells the story of a salaryman who is stabbed to death in a mugging and is reborn into another world as a slime. He starts his new life as Rimuru in a world occupied by many different races, hoping to build a country that accepts people whatever race they are.
The title is based on a light novel by Taiki Kawakami and Fusu, which has been viewed over 400 million times on the self-publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narouand. The paperback volumes have sold almost 4.5 million copies.
