Introduction

Born and raised in Japan, the blonde Olivia can’t speak a word of English. Even though Kasumi looks like a smart girl, wears glasses, and has short hair, she also can’t speak English at all. Hanako is a very bright girl and always wears her hair in pigtails. These are the three middle school girls who form a club where they play Japanese playground games. Prepare the stage for the cutest and funniest comedy!

Adaptation

Asobi Asobase is a comedy manga by Rin Suzukawa, which is currently being serialized in Hakusensha’s Young Animal.

An active and bright girl, she does well in sports as well as with studies. But sadly she is not smart. She longs for a life she can be satisfied with, which is why she joined the soft tennis club in middle school, but it didn’t satisfy her needs at all.

She transferred to Hanako’s and Kasumi’s middle school and has blonde hair and blue eyes. Both of her parents are foreigners so it might seem she is fluent in English, but since she was born and raised in japan, she speaks hardly any English.

She seems like the honor student type of girl, sits in the classroom to read books even after the lesson has ended but ultimately she just can’t master English. To overcome her problem with English, she asks Olivia to teach her. Her chest is also a bit big for a middle school student, which makes many people think she is older than she actually is.
