Review (spoiler alert)
The Karasuno and Seijoh members start their warm-up routines. Before soon, Kageyama and Oikawa start a little skirmish. Seijoh’s new member, nicknamed “Kyouken-chan” (mad doggy) stands out among the rest.
Embrace yourself for the legendary match!
The game starts off with Seijoh’s captain, Oikawa’s serve. Karasuno’s captain, Daichi-san, successfully receives the serve with all his might. Ohhh I got goose bumps watching this scene.
While competing for a point, Karasuno struggles to grasp a chance of breakthrough, and unfortunately, Karasuno’s attack ball gets stalled at Seijoh’s excellent block. Kageyama gets worked up at this mishap, and while gasping for a word to spit, he busts ass off of Hinata, telling him to just chill out, focus.
Things get worse; it’s Seijoh’s Captain’s turn to serve.
In this tense scene, the graphic changes to a unique drawing style, which conveys the power and strength of Oikawa’s serve. Yachi-san once dubbed Oikawa as “the guy who can serve a ball that tears your arms off.” The description turns out to be accurate. No one with the Karasuma team can react to the overwhelming impact.
The game twists and turns, and eventually, brings a set point to Karasuno, with a score of 24-23. Seijoh brings a secret weapon, a player called “Kyouken-chan” (mad doggy). Until now the Seijoh team has used a calculated play style, but, with this guy’s addition, things go upside down. He intercepts a ball that was not intended for him, and uses that to blast an intense attack into the Karasuno’s court.
That unique drawing style was perfect to represent the strength – starting from Oikawa’s serve. Oh that was so cool, I got goose bumps! The ball changed its shape as it traveled through the air, and hit Daichi’s arms, who, with enormous focus, received the ball and controlled it. Aww the heat! Daichi’s inner voice actually made me laugh hard LOL
Then here comes Kyouken-chan. His attack was enough to convince us that he’s out of control, violent and boisterous and all that.
Finally next time, we get to see how Karasuno is going to tame the mad dog; the Kyouken-chan. Plus, Oikawa’s colossal serve… what if it actually starts racking more points?
