Episode 19: Iron Wall is Built Again and Again
Karasuno High advances to the semifinal round. The winner of the Seijoh vs Date Tech game is Karasuno’s next opponent. Seijoh’s leader is Oikawa. On the other hand, Date Tech has all their senior members retired in the bench, and was thought to be disadvantageous. However, a new force of Date Tech leads to a close match.
Review (spoiler alert)
Seijoh vs. Date Tech
With the addition of a new setter to the team Date Tech, the Karasuno members can’t take eyes off of Date Tech’s new force, who surprises everybody with his unusually high toss. His name is
Koganegawa. He is a first-year unexperienced rookie, and takes advantages of his tall physique, hence, the nick name is big setter. He has a pretty serious personality, but he is still underdeveloped in terms of techniques. Due to this and other setbacks, Date Tech lets Seijoh lead the game.
With the addition of Koganegawa, Date Tech’s block improves from two-panels to three-panels. The enhanced iron wall impeccably blocks Oikawa’s spike. Consecutively, Date Tech adds up more points thanks to Koganegawa’s high toss.
Seijoh’s leader Oikawa keeps his cool and collected leadership. He doesn’t let Date Tech catch up. Finally, he breaks through the Date’s iron wall by taking advantage of Koganegawa’s inexperience.
After the game is over, the third-year members of the Date Tech assure Koganegawa that he can become the finest and greatest iron wall ever.
Date Tech’s Aone always regards Hinata as his rival. He swears to the team that he won’t lose another chance to face and crush Hinata.
On the other hand, Hinata and the team Karasuno start warming up for the next match against archrival Seijoh. The team members grow tense.
Date Tech has lost this time, but, they will definitely come back next year, oh, it’s gonna be horrible. Their already-impeccable guard grows stronger, by an addition of the third guy, Koganegawa. This rookie has so much potential. He is definitely going to be a terribly tough player by next year. To be honest, though, we don’t want to miss the match of the improved team Karasuno vs. also improved Date Tech, right?
The next week, our Karasuno finally face the archrival, Seijoh. I’m already super psyched to watch how Hinata and the team will step up and put on their improved performance on a display.
