This episode mainly rolls around 2 main plots; the plot centered around Kyoma and around Loser.
It’s going to reveal the true intentions of all the Collectors that gather on Easter Island.
Ok, let’s go over the highlights of Episode 10!
While Kyoma is still unconscious, a security robot attacks Mira inside the underground tunnel. With help from Debbie and Harry, Mira manages to beat off the attack.
Kyoma wakes up with some memories from the past.
What was the truth of the top-secret New Tesla research on Easter Island…?
Meanwhile, the Collectors begin to take actions according to their own intentions!
Soft patting on Mira’s head
One of the key highlights this time is when Kyoma pats Mira’s head.
Mira, Debbie and Harry manage to protect unconscious Kyoma from the attack of the security robot. When Kyoma wakes up, he gives Mira a pat on her head as if he rewards her for her effort. This is the very first time that Kyoma expresses his feeling to Mira. During his unconsciousness, Kyoma learns that the body of Mira was originally created for Miyabi, and he must have seen Miyabi in Mira.
When she gets patted, she says, “Huh? What’s this? It feels different today…Um, Kyoma, please do that again!” and she asks for another pat.
In this scene, Mira is super dooper cute!
Mira being extremely cute like this is very crucial to enjoy this anime!
Memories of 5 years ago
When Kyoma regains his consciousness, he remembers some of the memories from 5 years ago. What flashes back to his mind is the truth about that sphere.
The goal of the research at Adrastea was to develop a giant transporter that could bring people and objects into space. The sphere he saw was actually a gate that became visible when objects were transported. In Kyoma’s dream, Seameyer says the memories Kyoma carries are the key that connects Dimension W to the material universe.
Assault of assassins
Kyoma and his troop bump into Lwai, who is desperately running away from K.K who turned into an assassin.
To eliminate them, K.K aggressively controls Yuri and Doug with a coil implanted into their head. Doug used to be in Grendel with Kyoma, but he has fallen into the void.
K.K’s goal is to wipe out everyone who gets near ground zero.
He was a member of the investigation team when the accident happened on Easter Island 5 years ago. He mentions that he has seen the report on the final operation of Grendel as well as Kyoma’s medical charts.
Kyoma faces Doug’s attack and breaks the controlling coil in his head to bring him back to how he used to be. However, it in fact ends up taking his life away.
On the other hand, Lwai fights back against K.K and Yuri, but he gets killed in the end.
The peak of Kyoma’s anger
Kyoma witnesses the moment Lwai gets killed. In his anger, he makes a ferocious attack on K.K. His anger is at the peak, his face is just like a demon and his body seems to be burning hot in a flaming temper. Normally, Kyoma is calm and quiet, and it’s rare to show his emotion like this.
This powerful scene with the burst of anger is certainly the highlight of the episode.
The secret of Lwai
It is the most surprising to find out about the secret of Lwai’s body.
Sadness doesn’t last long when Lwai gest killed. He comes back to life at the end of the episode. The twist is that there is more than one prosthetic body for Lwai.
There is one thing that I don’t understand here though…how do those prosthetic bodies share Lwai’s will…? I wonder if we find out later on. I would like to think so.
An American Collector, Jason Chrysler, suddenly appears in front of Loser. The combat reveals their goals and intentions.
Loser’s goal is to bring back Adrastea by collecting all five Numbers. He already has four in his arms and legs. All he needs is the coil that first worked on the land of the void.
Chrysler, the counterpart, turns out to be a Numbers Collector, as well. He wasn’t just a pathetic wannabe hero!
So, how did you like it?
Kyoma remembers a bit of memories from 5 years ago, but it still seems to be a while to get to the core of the matter. What is ‘Genesis’ that flashes back to Kyoma? What exactly happened 5 years ago? What makes him a survivor, but not his comrades or Miyabi?
I hope there will be answers to all these questions when it reaches its climax.
See you next time!
