This week’s episode picks up from Team Blue Moon’s mission to locate Lisa who was taken hostage by Iltutmish and R.R. Lurker. R.R. Lurker and Iltutmish massacre the soldiers that the U.S. Army Retrieval Unit has sent out to aid Team Blue Moon. While Bluesy Fruesy battles with R.R. Lurker, Seigi and Touko come across Iltutmish. Lisa then wakes up inside a cargo freight and busts out to join the battle.
Seigi comes close to death during his battle against Iltutmish. At the right time, Touko’s tattoo seal activates and she throws Iltutmish against the wall. Having made a reckless move, Touko is then slammed back and Seigi then jumps back in to become the hero in the spotlight with his Void Maker.
R.R. Lurker and Bluesy Fruesy are engaged in a fight when Bluesy Fruesy activates her compressed air move and uses it to cause explosions around R.R. Lurker. However, R.R. Luker had already set another trap that locks up seal user’s movements and Izzy is rendered motionless. That precise moment, Lisa makes her way onto the screen and finishes off R.R. Lurker.
The anime flips back to Seigi’s battle; he has defeated Iltutmish. Princess Aryabhata makes a sudden appearance using what she mentions a “link”, something that has yet to be explained. She says she will leave the key in America.
When Bluesy Fruesy is reunited with Lisa, she goes to make her report to her Colonel. She is ordered to make Seigi participate in Tattoo research.
Later on, Seigi and Touko come across Iltutmish and Princess Aryabhata. Touko sends Seigi off to get groceries and then challenges the Princess to a game of ping pong. The rules: If Touko wins, Princess Aryabhata leaves Seigi alone, but if the Princess wins, she gets to fondle Touko’s breasts. Needless to say, Princess Aryabata won the challenge. Afterwards, Seigi speaks with the Princess about her views on war and her motives. She informs him that their goals are the same as his: A world without war.
Solo vs. Team- Seigi and Touko take on Iltutmish as a team, whereas Iltutmish fought alone and lost. Later, a cat defends her and Seigi points it out as her “partner”. Lisa has to come help Bluesy Frusey to defeat R.R. Lurker. Everyone essentially performs better in teams.
Fighting to Kill vs. Fighting to Protect- Seigi tells Iltutmish that he defeated her because he has something to protect, therefore making his cause to fight superior to her’s.
Sexuality- There were some moments between Princess Aryabhata and Iltutmish that read as sexual. Princess Aryabhata goes for Touko’s breasts as a prize.
Hero to the Rescue- Touko saves Seigi, then Seigi saves Touko, while Princess Aryabhata comes to end the fighting before Iltutmish gives up. Lisa also has to save Bluesy Fruesy who originally came to save Lisa.
Possessiveness- Touko acts very possessive of Seigi around Princess Aryabhata. Iltutmish gets jealous of Touko when Princess Aryabhata favors her for her body.
This was a really fun episode to watch because it came with lessons about compromising after a conflict. We learned that enemies are more conquerable when you have a team to work with and friends you can rely on. For instance, Seigi could only take down Iltutmish with Touko and Tom’s help. Bluesy Fruesy needed Lisa’s help to defeat R.R. Lurker. The creator of this anime is trying to show that everyone has core values and can help each other to reach a common goal. We also get a chance to see Touko’s powers develop. Next week she will hopefully demonstrate her powers a bit more.
Furthermore, this episode had a lot of foreshadowing about Seigi’s potential to work together with his enemy, Princess Aryabhata, towards the common goal of a world without violence. This is interesting because for the most part Princess Aryabhata has used violence to achieve all of her goals. Also, Princess Aryabhata’s underlings believe in fighting to kill vs. Seigi’s beliefs in fighting to protect something that you care about. Seigi’s powers become stronger when he is trying to defend his friends. R.R. Lurker and Iltutmish draw power from brute strength and their desire to fight for their Princess.
Finally, I think it will be interesting to see what the character of Lisa brings to the table. She must be important considering the lengths the U.S. Tattoo Retrieval Unit went to in order to save her. On top of that, Lisa seems to share a deep connection with Bluesy Fruesy that will be fun to see explained.
