It is decided that the light novel “Hundred” which is produced by Jyun Misaki and published by GA Bunko will debut to TV screen in an animation format, beginning in April 2016. The production staff, teaser footage, and promotional video have been released to the public so far.
The work titled “Hundred” is a light novel produced by Jyun Misaki and published by GA Bunko from November 2012. Its comics-adopted version by SASAYUKi started serialization from November 2013 on KADOKAWA’s “Monthly Dragon Age” and so far two volumes of the comic books have been released.
The animation-adopted “Hundred” is a academy battle action animation, featuring Hayato Kisaragi and his classmates to wield special weapons called Hundred in order to confront a mysterious organic living “Savage (サベージ) that appeared out of the blue to attack human beings on earth.
The director is Tomoki Kobayashi, who’s works include “Utawarerumono (うたわれるもの)” and “Akame Ga Kill (アカメが斬る!).” The animation is by Production IMS (プロダクションアイムズ) who’s best known for the work in “Date A Live (デート・ア・ライブ). The director and animator combo has a good reputation in action animation.
The sound and music is handled by Naruse Shuhei, who has produced a number of works for the Kamen Rider (仮面ライダー) series. He will definitely ramp up the beats of the action scenes.
The original character design is done by Nekosuke Ookuma from Nitroplus. The animation character design is assigned to Norie Tanaka, who successfully brought forth alluring girl charms from the original character design to the TV screen. The teaser visuals introduce four heroines; Emile Crossfode, Claire Harvey, Sakura Kirishima, and Karen Kisaragi. The promotional video is packed with action scenes utilizing the weapon “hundred”, representing the animation show’s heavy inclination to battle action scenes.
“Hundred” – it is the one and only weapon powerful enough to repel “Savage” the mysterious living organism that attempts to attack planet earth.
In order to be qualified as “武芸者 (slyer)” Hayato enrolls to “Little Garden” which is an academy formed inside the ship floating in the ocean.
Hayato has no idea why his roommate knows him so much. Her name is Emil Crossford. Hayato feels that she looks familiar but at the same time, there is something unsettling about her. Immediately after Hayato’s admittance, the academy’s finest slayer, Claire Harvey the Queen, challenges him to challenge her in duel style.

Yoshiaki HASEGAWA (voice of Hayato Kisaragi)
Hello everyone, it is my pleasure to be here. My name is Yoshiaki Hasegawa and I play the part of Hayato Kisaragi. I feel like it took a long time since the original work was adopted to audio book and animation format. You are right now looking at talented people of high caliber in delivering captivate performance based on fascinating characters. I would like you to enjoy how Hayato evolves throughout the show. As Hayato glows up, I myself feel like evolving as a professional. Above all, I would like to bring your attention to an action scene, which is one of the highlights of this show. How did the original action scene transform to the animation format? I’m looking forward to seeing the answer together with you.
Rumi Okubo (voice of Emil Crossford)
At last, the “Hundred” is launching! Smashing combat action scenes, powerful and adorable girl characters, completed with romance plots – you have lots to look out for!
This is my first opportunity to play a part of someone who is boyish and cute, like Emil. I’m personally looking forward to gain much new experience through this project. Pay attention to the slightly forceful, spoiled yet cool side of Emil, too! The post recording sessions have already begun. The recording sessions are full of energy and noise. I hope that our good vibes come through the screen to your viewing experience. So please watch the animated version of “Hundred” – and thank you!
Mayu Yoshioka (voice of Sakura Kirishima)
My name is Mayu Yoshioka, and I’m honored to take this great opportunity to play the part of Sakura Kirishima.
From the time that I have worked on the audio book version, I have been looking forward to this day very much. My heart is throbbing with an anticipation that now I finally see Sakura-chan moves and acts on screen. Sakura-chan is a world diva. I am given many opportunities to sing a broad range of songs, from cool songs to adorable ones! I participated in the recording sessions while I envisioned the scene where Sakura Kirishima performs on a big stage. I am really excited to imagine how my recordings are going to be incorporated to the finished product….!
This is my very first opportunity to play someone who’s cunning and yet cute; Performing Sakura Kirishima is a challenge. I gave it all I have! Enjoy Sakura’s always-calculating, super-adorable personality.
Kaya Okuno (voice of Karen Kisaragi)
My name is Kaya Okuno, and I perform the voice of Karen Kisaragi, a character in “Hundred.” Karen-chan is the younger sister of the protagonist of this show, Hayato. She adores her brother so much that she sometimes acts pretty eccentric. For example, she looks cute like an angel under normal circumstance, but when she feels jealous about her brother Hayato, she utters bone-chilling phrases. That gap is one of the highlights of the show, plus, I had so much fun playing it! I have gotten a chance to sing a song, so please look forward to it!
MAO (voice of Claire Harvey)
Clair is the chair of the student council. I think of her personality as a strict-teacher type. That said, she always cares about the academy and acts to improve the school life, I think she’s awesome!
Such all-business straight-student Claire sometimes shows her private and feminine side, especially when it comes to Hayato. So, pay attention to the numerous emotions she shows us sometimes through her face, ranging from bashing, embarrassed, frustrated, or furious… Her off business, genuine, teenager reactions are sprinkled here and there. I want the viewers to enjoy the gap between the serious Claire and the teenager Claire. Thanks for listening!
