Chisame was hanging out with Yume at the arcade trying a motorcycle simulation game. But her legs didn’t reach the floor, and the motions were different from a real motorcycle, so she crashed hard! Hane, Onsa, Rin ran into them and tried playing the motorcycle game too, and Chisame tried again. Later, Onsa, the new club leader, invited Chisame to try the motorcycles that the members of the motorcycle club had. Chisame said she only rides motorcycles in the circuit.
Bakuon!! Episode 10 Review
The motorcycle club was looking for new members, but it’s not easy. Chisame is a friend of Yume, and a GP racer. They wanted her to join the club, but she said no because she thinks she is too short to ride a motorcycle on public roads: she can’t stop at traffic lights or reach the ground with her feet. Chisame had a strong feeling of inferiority about being unable to reach the ground with her feet and she has strong pride that she is a motorcycle racer.
Chisame tried to look cool and hid her complexes from Onsa and the other club members. The motorcycle members took Chisame to the place where their motorcycles were parked. Hane and the others asked Chisame to ride on their motorcycles, but Chisame said no without any excuses.
However, she was running out of excuses and decided to tell them that she is too short for her feet to reach the ground rather than letting them see her having trouble reaching the ground. Everyone laughed when they heard it. Onsa said “That’s not a big deal!”
When Chisame rode on Onsa’s motorcycle, the seat sank deeply, and Chisame’s feet touched the ground. Many women motorcyclists are short so they need to adjust their motorcycles so they can comfortably ride. Onsa and Hane’s motorcycles are adjusted for them too.
Chisame is so proud of being a motorcycle racer and she said adjusting the height of the seat changes the performance of the motorcycle greatly, so I shouldn’t do that. Onsa said the makers don’t need to decide that.
Chisame was convinced by everyone, and decided to join the motorcycle club. Her father was going to buy her a new racing motorcycle, but Chisame asked him to let her get the motorcycle license so she can ride on public roads.
Chisame started going to motorcycling school. Another girl, Hijiri was going there too, so they started taking the same classes. Hijiri already had a license for a scooter, but she was trying to get a motorcycle license too.
Chisame is the daughter of a professional motorcycling racer, and she has won many competitions. So the instructors thought she knew everything, and didn’t teach her anything. She couldn’t tell the instructors she didn’t know anything about non-racing motorcycles. She didn’t learn anything, but she finished a lot of classes already. On the other hand, Hijiri was getting better and better after each class. Chisame was worried that Hijiri is better on public roads now. While Chisame was motorcycling in class, she fell which made her cry a lot. Chisame is the fastest in racing, but also a beginner road motorcyclist. Chisame figured that was bad, and asked Hijiri to teach her.
Hijiri was so bad at riding motorcycles, but she improved so much. She revealed her secret; it was a GP racer training harness. She showed the imprint on her upper body.
If you watch this anime as a comedy, the punch line is weak (so was episode 1). It was cute that the stubbornly proud Chisame at last revealed how she really felt.
Hane started motorcycling as a beginner, but Chisame had been an excellent racer, so it was hard for her to start from the beginning and ask people for help. I liked how she admitted she didn’t know anything about non-racing motorcycles.
Rin is also a vain girl, but it meets her desires reasonably.
Only a few episodes are left in this series. I look forward to watching them motorcycle with their new member.
