We have new screenshots from Yowamushi Pedal SPARE BIKE, Todo Jinpachi-hen!

The movie explores Hakone Academy’s ace climber Jinpachi Todo’s junior high school days where he found his joy through bike racing and mountain biking.

Besides Todo, we also have some design sketches of Todo’s fateful friend Shusaku Itokawa and Hakone Academy’s manager Minami.

– How did it feel to play junior high school days’ Jinpachi Todo?

Well, he was already pretty narcissistic and his true nature wasn’t that different.
However, there was a big difference in what he values the most.
Jinpachi in high school has a special feeling for bicycle and Makishima is his most important rival who he can passionately compete against with bicycle. When he was in junior high, he was simply cherishing his fashion and friends.
Since he had yet to meet things he could be enthusiastic about at that time, I tried to play him in a more straightforward way.

– What did you think when Todo first met his road bike?

While Todo was competing against Shusaku on the steep mountain path, he was very desperate to overtake Shusaku caring nothing about his fashion getting messy. I strongly felt that he is the type of the boy who hates to lose when it comes to a competition.

– What kind of character is Todo for you?

For me, Todo is a character who I can play naturally and act just as I feel.
It’s really fun for me to play Jinpachi and I have a special affection for him, so I get a feeling that I want to play him better.
He is definitely a very important character for me.

– Please give some words to the fans waiting for the movie.
