Spring 2019 Anime: Official Twitter Hashtags & Pages
That was it for the first season of 2019. Many good titles graced our screens, but if we want to be honest, there are too many series in the new season we have been waiting for quite a long time.
The battle of cuteness begins between Filo and Raphtalia; who will be victorious? This week’s episode focuses on new member Filo fitting into the crew and Naofumi going to surprising lengths for our cutie amigo. Filo is a tough contender; she is an adorable bird with the ability to transform into endearing girl.
Japanese Original Title: 新しい仲間
Finding out Filo can transform into a human girl was a surprise. Naofumi pays a visit to the slave merchant to have a crest place on Filo just like for Raphtalia. Filo settles into the group traveling around, helping people along the way. Naofumi treats Filo the same as Raphtalia and does the unexpected for his new companion.
Blow Them All Away: Naofumi is showing Filo the ropes quickly as she’s pulling the cart along chanting ‘I’ll Blow Away All My Enemy’s.’
My Naofumi Sama: During the episode, running through the cute clips of the gang traveling from place to place. there was a hysterical part as Naofumi is reading a book, Filo is sitting beside him, and Raphtalia pulls a sour face. Feeling left out, then both are sitting beside him but give each other scowling looks. The battle for Naofumi attention has begun. If I get to see more of Raphtalia pouty face, it will be all worth it to me.
Angel Filo: It was so ADORABLE, the effort Naofumi went to find the gem stone they needed in order for the dressmaker to create clothing for Filo with magical thread. The finished product was so fitting for this angelic cutie.
Cutie Badass: Filo, whether angry or happy, is just the most adorable thing, especially during the gang and the Nue fights. In combination with the other attacks, it was a thoroughly entertaining moment.
She’ll Eat You: Nice to see Naofumi triumphed over those rotten thugs. He got the better end of the bargain. The trader he saved was very impressed and decided to teach Naofumi everything he knew about trading.
Shield Additions I’m loving every time Naofumi unlocks another shield power. It’s fascinating to learn what each shield does. Naofumi is only going to get stronger but I think he already has within a short span of time.
Filo’s Transformation: Filo is special for her species. She is a very rare Queen Filorial that needs to have a crest to keep them tame.
Nue: A legendary spirit with the head of a monkey, body of a tanuki, tail of a snake, and limbs of a tiger. Nue written in Kanji means ‘night’ and ‘bird’. Said to be one of the oldest creatures in Japanese legends.
Killing it, killing it every week has this series so far, even if last week and this week’s episode were a bit slower. We’ve still had some action which has been a treat. I love how this series knows how to keep us entertained even if there will be episodes when nothing amazing might not happen. There is just so much to love about this series. Since the backlash from the first episode, I’ve noticed people have begun falling in love with this series. The Rising Of The Shield Hero is proving itself to be a special isekai series.
Like last week’s episode, Naofumi let his walls down around new companion Filo and treats her the same as Raphtalia. The lengths he goes to get the gem stone needed to make Filo’s clothes shows thay underneath Naofumi’s tough exterior he’s just a big softie. I’ve also loved learning bits and pieces about the world setting and new shield abilities Naofumi gains. Seeing Raphtalia use invisibility magic was really cool. Makes me excited for what other things everyone will learn to only become stronger.
I hope the next episode focuses on Filo as well. Who gets your votes for the cutest, Filo or Raphtalia? It’s a hard decision, even I cannot decide right now.
