Summer 2019 Anime: Official Twitter Hashtags & Pages
Summer is near, my dear friends, and our tablets and phones will need some extra space for all the amazing anime that are coming our way.
This episode was just amazing. I felt every emotion in these crazy 24 minutes and many questions were finally answered. Justice prevailed for our hero Naofumi and evil people got their just desserts. I thought it was going to turn out in a different way, however, and there were plenty of unexpected surprises along the way.
Japanese Original Title: 勇者会議
Queen Mirellia comes to Naofumi’s rescue after the battle with the Three Heroes Church. As Naofumi recovers from his wounds, the queen apologizes for all that has befallen Naofumi due to the king and Myne’s schemes. The queen is determined to make amends and puts Myne and the king on trial, where truths are revealed. There is nowhere to hide for the pair. They face up to their crimes and Naofumi’s name will finally be cleared.
This Queen: I’ll say it again, Queen Mirellia is a badass one. I have nothing but respect for the woman after her dominating display during this episode. Despite her inner desire to not have the king and daughter put on trial, she remained focused and followed through. But it was a given that she knew Naofumi wouldn’t let the evil duo be beheaded. Her actions during this episode only showed how fair the Queen is and how much love she has for the people of Melromarc.
About Trial Time: I remember at the start of watching Shield Hero how infuriating it was to watch Myne’s manipulative nature cause Naofumi’s bitter life in this new world. That moment she pulls out her tongue and standing there so smug… How much I wanted to see her suffer! it’s been a long ass wait but MYNE THE MANIPULATIVE HAD NOWHERE TO HIDE. It was a riveting scene to see both Myne and the King in chains and preparing for their royal images to be destroyed. Queen Mirellia was relentless and IT WAS GLORIOUS TO WATCH. I’m sorry but I enjoyed EVERY second. Two-face Myne and the King’s selfish intentions were put on display for the world to see.
The king may have been manipulated by the Three Heroes Church and is no better than his evil daughter but Myne still is worse than her father. Even under the slave crest seal Myne remained in denial for all things she had done to Naofumi and for attempting to have her own sister killed. Adding that slave crest was a truly brilliant aspect to truly show Myne’s manipulative, evil nature. Myne is a horrid person but as I’ve mentioned before, she has been a fantastic villain for this series. I love her for that.
Already Hated: It was revealed in the past two episodes that the king already hated the shield hero for certain reasons but we didn’t get to find that out this episode. Despite all the king’s actions that have been wrong, there was truth when he said that he only did it for his people and family. It was a believable confession from the king, seeing the Queen’s stunned face, you knew that wasn’t a lie.
Presenting The Newly ‘?’: Myne and the king’s scheming was downright low and disgusting but it was obvious they weren’t going to die. Just as the queen had hoped, Naofumi comes in to save the day again, to give ease to the people. I loved Naofumi stated death is an easy way out and that Myne and king’s punishment deserves to be slow and a reminder every day of what they did… Their punishment no-one saw coming but was APPROPRIATE and BLOODY HILARIOUS!!
Naofumi’s smug face showed how much pleasure he took during this moment as he suggested to change Myne’s name to ‘Bitch’ and King’s name to ‘Trash’. Myne for a double whammy changing her adventurer’s name to ‘Slut’. BRUTAL, but their shocked faces were enough to laugh your head off. The queen’s amusing expression in an agreement made this memorable scene even funnier. Oh, man.
Shield Recognised: I sobbed like a kid who just had their balloon popped. The soldiers and people make a path for Naofumi gave hi the recognition he deserves. IT WAS A LONG TIME MOMENT TO WAIT FOR, IT GOT ME GOOD. Bless Naofumi.
Manipulated: The queen explains during this episode what happened to get to this point. Ultimately, King Aultcray hated the shield hero before being swayed by the Three Heroes Church.
Nations: Queen reveals why she was away as the chaos unfolded. She went to attend an international forum with the major nations regarding summoning the four cardinal heroes. They would summon one hero at a time and fight the waves together. Kingdom of Melromarc, thanks to the king, had summoned all four heroes, which enraged the other nations. The Queen then had to go around and calm down the angered nations.
Visions: Naofumi experiences two visions; first one at the beginning, no idea what that means. But the second one, Myne and the kings beheading, had obvious relevance to the fact that Naofumi would have not let them die. No matter how much inside he would have wanted to see them get the ultimate punishment, it would be like them getting off Scott free. But also the conflict he had inside: was this the right thing to do? Would he or the Queen would be seen to be as bad as Myne and the King? If Naofumi had let Myne and King died, everything Naofumi has done up until this point would have meant nothing.
Different Country: If Naofumi had been summoned in the country of Stiltelt, a country that coexists with demi humans, Naofumi would have been worshipped instead of hated.
MY BABY NAOFUMI… finally finally, his name is clear. The handling on this element during the episode was done amazingly. IT WAS PERFECT, PEOPLE. I just loved this episode so so much more than the other episodes for obvious reasons. There were so many good parts but we know what the best part is: Myne is officially known as BITCH and the king as TRASH. I lost it at this part of the episode in a fit of laughter. BEST, FITTING PUNISHMENT EVER!. Putting a spin like this instead of letting them die was way more satisfying, ultimate satisfaction.
My words can’t put themselves together right now, because I was left wordless after this episode. I think it’s an appropriate time to say this series is going to be an anime favourite for me always. I’m pretty certain after this episode and what happens next. My week HAS BEEN MADE and even more so at the moment a path of soldiers and Melromarc people stand alongside one another, not in disgust this time but in union, giving the respect and recognition Naofumi has deserved for so long. I cried so bad at this scene…
Amazing, fantastic, brilliant! These are just some of the words that coe to mind about this week’s conclusive and satisfying episode. I’ll go wherever the series goes now. I’ve been here for it since the beginning and I will stay happily till the end. Also, Naofumi’s smug look was pure gold.
