Things got really exciting in this week’s episode. The vampires make their move ambushing the Jaegers, and we had more great moments this week. This episode felt like the first episode. It had memorizing fight scenes and suspenseful music. Things feel like they are about to get exciting, so let’s look at the awesome highlights for this episode.
Japanese Original Title: (モーニングバードソング)
Vampires are still in search of the Sirius box whereabouts. Yuliy is still conflicted over his brother while Kershner along with his other vampires decide to ambush the Jaeger hunters.
Tender Moment: It was a nice moment, the one Willard and Yuliy had. Willard really cares about Yuily’s well being and he advised Yuliy that there is more to life than taking up revenge. Willard seems worried Yuily will go off the rails if Yuliy continues on the path he’s chosen. It was unexpected giving Yuliy the option to stop being a Jaeger, but Yuliy was reluctant to ever do this. It was interesting to learn there was a way to reverse the effect of someone becoming a vampire, this case we’re talking Yuily’s brother, by using the Sirius box. I’m very curious to see how this works.
Ambush: This episode reminded me Episode 1’s adrenaline action and fight sequences. There is something memorizing about watching these Jaegers fight. It’s exciting and they kicked-ass against the vampires. Ahh, I love it.
Vampire Designs: The designs of the vampires really stood out this episode. Particularly in the scene when the vampires are ambushing the mansion. The crimson, bloody red of the creatures in the moonlight looked creepy and gruesome, in a good way.
Glimpse Of Tragedy: It was revealed in Episode 2 that Philip resents Yuliy for one of Yuliy’s kind killing his parents. I felt it was strange for Yuliy to bring this up when they are about to engage in battle. We got to see a flashback of a young Philip, seeing his parents slaughtered. Leaves you questions as it looked like a rogue wolf on the loose… I am intrigued to see where this leads too.
Themes And Trivia
Kershner: This vampire works under Yegraf, Kershner has been the main target for the Jaegers.
Kendo: A swordsmanship martial art using bamboo swords and protective gear to duel. It is practiced in Japan and many other countries.
This week’s episode reminded me of Episode 1 a lot, kick-ass action and unveiling pieces of the plot. There is one thing this series seems to fail at doing and it is leaving me uninterested for even a second. Willard revealed to Yuily there may be a way to reverse the effects of a vampire, using this ‘Sirius box’. We still know nothing about this ‘Sirius’. Additionally, we saw a random flashback to when one of Yuily’s kind kills Phillips parents, which was weird to add in – when Yuily and Philip are about to be attacked. But, still was nice to see background on the hunters. I hope we still learn more.
Favorite highlight this episode was the vampires’ ambush, honestly was waiting for that riveting, violin music to come in. Once it did, it elevated the entirety of the on-going action. The music of this series knows how to create the right atmosphere. The whole time I was kept in suspense. Though it puzzles me a little the vampires’ decision to make their move to kill the Jaegers now when they could have done at any time, but still who knows where things will lead too. Everything ended on a nice cliffhanger, Yuliy facing his brother and Kershner.
Vampire Life Doesn’t Sound Bad
Another killer episode once again and that CLIFF HANGER!!. What will Yuliy do? I’ve never felt this happy watching a vampire series in such a long time. Sirius The Jaeger heard the yearning call for the vampire genre, knowing it had been so long since we had one.
