Keep warm this winter season with the latest anime info at MANGA.TOKYO!
With not much to go on plotwise from last week’s episode, some of the pieces came together this week, bringing much interest and curiosity. You can tell I already love Sirius The Jaeger, especially if it keeps up its tense, fast-paced momentum. Just like it was with my reviews of Full Metal Panic, every week my heart might give out. Let’s find out we learned this week!
Japanese Original Title: 忘れられない思い出
Yuily and the other Jaegers came to Tokyo, keeping an eye on vampire activity. We have random killings of researchers, politicians, and people of wealth by a mysterious terrorist group, Hyakko party, whose intentions as to possibly why are most intriguing. As Yuily recovers from his wound in doctor Hanada’s care, scientist Hanada becomes an unfortunate target of the enemy. Meanwhile, Yuily is reunited in grim circumstances with someone he knows maybe too well.
Philip Has A Grudge? In Episode 1, I felt there was tension between Yuliy and Philip. This episode confirmed that for me with Philip giving away that Yuliy did a horrid act towards his parents. Little pieces of information like this tick off in your brain over and over. It’s annoying and interesting at the same time.
In Cahoots With The Vampires? Terrorist Hyakko party is possibly working with the vampires. From evidence gathered from the people killed, they were all doing some form of artificial research with Doctor Kisuke who was trying to create an Artificial Heart. The question is: what’s the benefit for the Hyakko group? What use are artificial organs going to be to the vampires? I am so interested to know this part in this plot.
Enemy Brother: Last week was enough of a cliffhanger. We are introduced to Yuliy’s brother in the end. I think he’s the one that shot him in the first episode. I am so intrigued to learn more about this, and did you see his brother’s eyes?. Giving off this sad expression made me laugh. It just looks like it stayed like that forever.
Music: The violin is such a stand-out instrument in this series. When the Vampires came to attack, those fast and abrupt violin runs elevated the whole scene and created such tension atmosphere. The instrument was used beautifully.
Royals: What the vampires are referred to in the series.
Agatha: A royal vampire who works under Kershner.
Arno Firm: Yuliy’s and other hunters use ‘V Shipping Company’ as a cover-up. Arno Firm is their competition against them.
Ending Theme: The ending theme ‘Star Picture’ is sung by sana. Both Yuliy and his brother as children appear so innocent and happy. The song has a sad tone, watching Yuliy and his brother happy, that their sibling bond is strained.
It was a thrilling episode from Sirius The Jaeger and it was very intriguing and interesting to learn more about the plot. The use the Vampires have for Artificial organs is a beckoning question. I’m waiting to hear answers in anticipation. While this episode was exciting, there was one part that wasn’t thrilling: the one with scientist Hanada’s daughter Saki watching him die in front of her. It sent chills, seeing a child witness such a horrendous thing. I grew attached to Saki throughout the episode, this pure child who just wanted someone by her. While I loved the epic fighting, the moment Saki’s father was killed in front of her made me feel really sad.
I’m most interested to learn even more about Yuliy, specially regarding Philip’s hostility towards him. I also want to learn more about Yuliy, as his first impression seemed cold. Seeing his softer side this episode showed that he is carrying a heavy baggage. On the other hand, we also saw the determination in Yuliy’s eyes while telling Agatha that he will kill every single vampire out there. That determination brings such curiosity as to what happened to Yuliy before becoming a Jaeger. To top things on an unexpected note, the end of the episode has Yuliy’s brother popping up. Sirius The Jaeger is bringing more curiosity with it, every episode and I love it.
This was another alluring episode that revealed a great chunk of the of plot to leave us intrigued by. Finally, we have a plot direction and it is exciting. I am very curious to know what we will find out next episode, leaving us on sibling reunion. P.A Works, you are doing a fabulous job with Sirius The Jaeger, keeping up the suspense factor.
Tell us in the comments below, What did you think of this week’s episode? Does the main plot sound intriguing to you? What are you hoping to see from this vampire thriller?
