I feel I got myself all excited and too interested in the revealment of the Arc Of Sirius for nothing. Literally, it’s a TINY SHINY BALL, this one thing everyone has been seeking, nothing but a small ball. That was a disappointing reveal but to tell you what wasn’t disappointing: the rest of the episode. This week’s episode was cracking good. Yuliy reunites with his brother and Yevgraf makes his move.
Japanese Original Title: 血を呼ぶ
Yuliy finally has the Arc of Sirius in his possession but Yevgraf is waiting in the shadows, ready to swoop in and make his move. Willard and the other jaegers including Iba and Ryoko all come to Yuliy’s aid. Amongst all the commotion, Yuliy finally reconciled with his brother Mikhail.
Brotherly Cub Love: Yevgraf takes advantage of Mikhail with their blood pact by taking control of him entirely and sending a blood-thirsty Mikhail after Yuliy to gain possession of Ark. Before all of this, smart Mikhail drank the blood from infected vampires to prevent Yevgraf from taking complete control of him. I think Yuliy and Mikhail reached a reconciliation about everything. It was funny watching them fight and argue but it was touching after all the quarreling; both had vented their frustrations. Their bond never changed, and it was plain to see in this scene.
Ball Of Revealment: Well, the Arc reveal was a disappointment; it was just a gold ball. All this build up about this Arc and only to make my excitement burst within seconds. What was more puzzling the scene Yevgraf ate the Arc, now it’s inside him? Seriously, what the hell.
Vampire Bishop: I never picked Bishop to be a Vampire, that was a total surprise. When he took Ryoko hostage I was like DAMN. But then after hearing Yuliy confidently say, he could see in Bishop eyes, he wasn’t filled with ill-intentions in looking for the Arc. BUT DAMN EVEN MORE when Yevgraf kills Bishop off as he’s yelling to Yuliy to kick Yevgraf’s ass. I got really mad, haha, Yevgraf NEEDS AN ASS WHOOPING.
Music On Point: The fast-paced, abrupt violin music throughout the episode was on point, every time – Just like through the series.
He Called My Name: Yuliy finally called Ryoko by her name. It was a cute scene when passing her sword to Yuily and Ryoko feeling flattered.
It’s clear enough after this episode that the next episode will be the finale. This episode made up for the last two which were lackluster. This episode had me reminiscing from Episode 1, the fast-paced action and gorgeous violin music. Only disappointment was the BIG reveal of the Arc of Sirius, It’s a golden ball. I wasn’t impressed and now I don’t care what the thing does. All this build up on this one thing, and it’s just a big flop.
What wasn’t a flop was the rest of the episode. Yuliy and Mikhail are such cute brothers and can I just say that it was a funny moment because the whole time they were arguing. But it was touching, at the same time, finally meeting each other halfway. Both brothers just wanted to protect one another, and it’s just adorable. But we have to talk about the sad part Yevgarf killing off Bishop. I didn’t care about the character since he was introduced and learning he was a vampire was a surprise, alarm bells were going off ‘he’s the enemy’. But Yuliy could see Bishop’s intentions wanting to avenge his friends and seeking the Arc were pure. It did not matter to Yuliy he was vampire, Yuliy believed in him and Bishop’s intentions.
This focus on Bishop’s character made me feel bad for his death. It was brutal while giving his last speech to Yuliy to kick Yevgraf ass. Yevgraf stabs his whole arm through Bishop’s chest, haha this scene had me boiling. Yuily better kick Yevgraf ass next episode because far as his character goes for the series – it’s been damn annoying.
Ahh, this was a damn good episode, I’m excited for the finale but at the same time, I’m not anticipating it will be amazing.
There was a good summary for the next episode in the end; the golden ball will save all. The arc is everything, haha. Sorry had to use that terrible pun but next episode this vampire thriller will come to an end, I’m sad.
