We are here! Tada Never Falls In Love ended with…Tada falling in love, of course. I’ll keep the introduction short and sweet this week and get straight to the review.
Japanese title: 俺も、一生、忘れない
After finding out about Teresa, Tada leaves the castle. Kaoru confronts him, telling Mitsuyoshi that he shouldn’t just walk away, We learn that the envelope that Rachel snuck into Mitsuyoshi’s bag was an invitation to the Christmas ball, and Kaoru urges Mitsuyoshi to attend. However, it is not until the invitation gets blown into the river that Mitsuyoshi both realizes and admits that he wants to be honest with Teresa. In an important moment for our normally cool protagonist, he jumps into the river after the invitation.
After borrowing a nice suit, Mitsuyoshi appears at the ball much to Teresa’s surprise. Charles stops Alec and security from forcing him to leave and allows the two some private time. Finally, Mitsuyoshi admits his feelings to Teresa, and she reciprocates. Knowing that they cannot be together, they share a tender embrace.
Kaoru and Mitsuyoshi return to Japan, and Pin-sempai is graduating. We learn that he will be staying in Tokyo! With the cherry blossoms in season, Mitsuyoshi takes some photographs near Edo castle and is greeted by a very familiar face. Teresa has run after him, just like he did before. And that’s how Tada Fell In Love.
Rachel’s Secret Occupation
Rachel is the author of the Sunflower Express series! She really is the character with the biggest connections in the series and was pulling a lot of strings.
The Scene in the Corridor
My favorite scene in the episode was probably in the corridor of the castle, where Mitsuyoshi finally, finally admits his feelings to Teresa. It wasn’t as simple as him just telling a girl that he loves her; it was him overcoming the obstacles within himself. Their tender bittersweet embrace was very memorable for me.
Kaoru and Charles, Beings From Above
Are Kaoru and Charles even human? There is not a bad bone in their body. Despite making the characters almost unbelievable, I find there was something very refreshing about these almost inhuman angels. Kaoru just wants to make every happy, and although he is an extreme narcissist, he cares for his friends more than anybody. He made his way to Larsenburg purely out of worry for his dearest friend, and his platonic love for Mitsuyoshi is something I highly look up to. Charles is also angelic, and he made an extreme sacrifice by not only breaking off the engagement for Teresa, but to actually make sure that it was leaked to the media that it was HE who broke it off. Teresa would not receive the blame.
Tokyo U
Pin-sempai is staying in Tokyo! This means there is still a chance for his and Hinako’s relationship to blossom. I mentioned in an earlier review that Kyoto University is one of the most prestigious universities in Japan. There is only one university in Japan- and that’s the one which Pin-sempai ended up entering! The Universty of Tokyo is extremely hard to get into, proving just how bright Hajime is….even if he lacks many certain social skills.
Always Make Your Heart Rainbow!
To be honest, I’m not sure what to make of this ending. I was all set for a beautiful bittersweet ending as the two main characters learned the taste of first love and went on to go on with their lives. However, did we suddenly get a happy ending after the credits? It all seemed a little sudden if you asked me. However, the way Teresa jumped into Mitsuyoshi’s arms was extremely cute! It still looks possible that Yui and Yamashita-Dog, as well as Hajime and Hinako, could end up getting closer- and Nyanko Big also seems to be getting somewhere with Cherry. There are a lot of questions going off in my head, such as ‘how long can Teresa stay in Japan?’, ‘What happens when she turns 18?’, ‘How big of an impact did breaking off the engagement with Charles affect her future as queen?’. However, to be honest, I’m not all that bothered if I never find out the answers. This anime had some cute moments, and I will be back soon with the series review for Tada Never Falls in Love!
In the meantime, enjoy these screenshots from our episode previews!
