Chudelkin was just sitting in his room watching Quinella and Eugeo getting it on from his crystal ball all this time? What is the deal with SAO and creepy perverted villains?
Japanese Original Episode Title: シンセサイズ
Alice wakes up to find herself treated and carefully carried to the 95th floor. Kirito initiates a sequence of spells to track down the Blue Rose Sword which leads them to the frozen bath hall of the 90th floor but Eugeo is nowhere to be seen. Alice starts to cry when she finds Bercouli petrified, but he momentarily wakes up and lets them know about what Chudelkin did to him and that Eugeo is now in the hands of the Administrator. Both Alice and Kirito move to the floors above where they get into the forbidden room of the Senators of the Church, only to find out several humans trapped in pods and fed through tubes that are treated as surveillance devices to track down people that go against the Taboo Index. Disgusted by the Pontifex’s manipulation, they move on to Chudelkin’s room where he starts telling things about Alice’s past making her attack him but he manages to escape. They chase him up to the 99th floor and to their surprise they see Eugeo Synthesis Thirty Two descending from a hole in the ceiling leading to the 100th floor.
Alice might have OCD: I don’t know if the opening scene was some lewd fan service or just Alice showcasing her OCD tendencies once more. In a previous episode, she gives a handkerchief to Kirito and commands him to clean it before returning it to her and now she feels super disgusted when she finds out her clothes drenched in his sweat. She is definitely a bit OCD and this is making me love her even more. I am not going to accept her being embarrassed about it. She is just a lovable neat freak.
The Senators and Chudelkin: So Quinella basically just gathered a lot of powerful Sacred Arts users and made them act like surveillance cameras? Seeing how she learned to code in English so fast that she self-proclaimed herself as the Goddess of this world, you would think that she could have made a machine about it or something, but no, human experimentation and slavery work better for an ultimate villain like her. Also, why did she make them all look the same? Oh boy, this is starting to feel very familiar… Also, can we all agree that Chuldekin looks like a perv and is super annoying? No one cares about you and what you do with your crystal ball, okay? And no one cares that you are aroused by seeing a young girl’s crying face. GET OUT OF HERE.
Eugeo has been synthesized: More like ‘Eugeo has just scored for the first time in his life’ but whatever. So he has been forced synthesized as well, like Alice, and is now the ultimate and more badass Integrity Knight that we have seen. Using all these amazing abilities and wearing a super cool armor, he is ready to fight his master! Will Kirito finally start showcasing his true skills or he will be afraid of hurting his student and best bro?
Themes & Trivia
Chudelkin talks differently that the others: Fun fact, Chudelkin refers to himself using the feminine personal pronoun atashi (アタシ), which is rarely used in written language, but common in conversation, especially among younger women.
If Bercouli knew about all this and was trying to break free of the Seal of the Right Eye, for 300 years, why didn’t he tell the rest of the Integrity Knights about it? I mean if he lacked the willpower to do it but was certain that something was wrong about the Administrator and the Axiom Church he could have made the other ones give it a shot. But I know why. He didn’t do it because he probably liked to chill in this onsen all day while training cute young girls into becoming Knights. I mean, who needs justice, freedom and slaying dragons when you have ALL THAT?
Before that boy is deceived by the labyrinth of his memories.
So the epic battle between Kirito and Eugeo is finally here and we will probably get two or even three episodes about the whole thing. Get ready for epic action scenes, drama, and some intense bromance between those two, because we will surely get to experience great amounts of it in the next episodes!
