I have to admit that I‘ve started to like AFTERLOST. This guilty-pleasure series has managed to give us a satisfying plot. Well, better late than never! In this episode there are numerous revelations and the story is finally building up to a satisfying ending. Let’s take a closer look!
That’s what I am talking about! It’s a shame that AFTERLOST wasted so much time in meaningless and dull episodes while it could be great from the beginning. This time, the audience learned more about Taiyo’s noxious character and Kouta’s savior. It was a pretty straightforward episode, giving us more information about Lost. It was just about time for some decisions to be taken and for masks to fall. Now we can be sure that Taiyo is pure evil and we are a step closer in discovering more of Lost’s mysteries and conspiracies. It all felt like a calm sky before a storm and, at this moment, I am pretty excited for the continuation. Though, I am looking forward to more twists while hoping that the plot remains direct and unambiguous.
Shhhh: At some point, we see Kouta answering his phone while in a movie theater. During the play, he is casually talking, making the crow quite angry. He could have moved a little. Damn, show some respect, man!
Backstabber: It was pretty clear from the beginning that Taiyo was a jerk, but betraying Tsuki like this was unexpected. She really seemed to care about him, plus she was the only survivor left from their universe -considering the fact Daichi is missing. I thought he would have feelings at least for her, but I was wrong! He took advantage of her kindness and love while murdering her in an extremely creepy way. He is ruthless and I cannot believe that he just wants to save his universe. I am convinced that there are more under the surface.
Geek: When Geek was commenting about his favorite Jpop band, he reminded me of myself when I think that everyone is interested in hearing about my last night’s dream! It was a very realistic moment, and it gave a more soft feeling to the episode.
First of all, cheers for the quality twist! AFTERLOST eventually became a decent anime which gives its audience something to wait for. In this episode, I even felt sorry for poor Yuki! This new, clear route is quite pleasant, since it’s helping me to get attached with the characters and -finally enjoy this show. Eiji’s and Kikyou’s secret experiment was a huge overturn and gave suspense to the anime. It seems that no one can be trusted and there are numerous discoveries left for us to find out. I would like for Tsuki to be alive, because she seems to have some sensitivities left and her reaction against Taiyo will be legendary.
In conclusion, this episode was explanatory and intriguing. It sets up the anime’s final battle, which I hope will be worthy to watch. Till then, we will make guesses! What did you think of this episode of Shoumetsu Toshi?
