Seems like the octopi were not exotic enough, so we’re getting another episode of sea creatures. And most importantly, seafood.
The episode starts and – wait, what- when was Robi caught? Did I miss something out? And why is he in a museum? No, no, it’s a throwback on how he got to be in debt to Mr. Yang. And what a throwback that is – did we just casually find out that Mr. Yang has a crush on Robi? Really?
Fast forward to the present, where as Robi and Hachi are making travel plans, Ikku notices some ships have been following them since they left Pluto, and no, they’re not Yang’s. They decide to stop at a nearby planet to shake them off. The Planet is name Odwarla (what) and is being inhabited by some weird fish people that now live on the land, thanks to the fact that humans colonized the planet. Robi want to have a highly rated meal and drags Robi and Ikku to a restaurant where you can catch your own fish and eat it. What a tourist. They catch the ugliest fish in the universe, then have it cooked donburi style. However, when it comes to paying the bill, Hachi hesitates to use his payment details, in obvious concern that someone is following his transactions around. Just as Hachi offers to work to pay off his meal, Robi faints and gets hospitalized. So Robi and Ikku stay back to work. While Roni is in the hospital, he meets a hot nurse who took care of him when he was (again) hospitalized two years ago (what).
In yet another flashback, we see how Mr. Yang got to hire one of his assistants by offering him a comb while he was homeless in the rain and telling him to take care of himself. I will refrain from commenting on this for now.
The weird anthropomorphic sea-nurse seems to be trying to get something out of Robi. She makes references to things I don’t remember already (and we’re just 4 episodes in lol) and starts talking shit about how they met because of their entwined destinies. Oh god. Meanwhile, Hachi is learning how to do the dishes. Due to some uninteresting subplots, one of which involves the sexy nurse, the guys go off trying to catch a legendary fish called the Odwarla oarfish. Their premium fishing set fails, so Robi and Hachi transform into Hizakuriger to maximize their fishing ability. Does it even work underwater? No, it doesn’t. They’re drowning. God, they’re stupid. Just before the kitchen-porter from the restaurant dives in to save them, we see the rare fish swimming in the background. It later jumps out of Hizakuriger that has been washed ashore and they actually do catch it.
Robi and his meal planning: Wow. And I thought I was a foodie. Unlike him, I could even eat… I don’t know. You name it. Even though I have to admit that I’ve started being significantly more picky lately. Still, I don’t count my meals against the days I have left to live (aaand I’m aware that a large number of restaurant reviews online are pure bs).
Too much cold food? It took me a while to realize how it can be deducted that cold food is bad for you, but I suppose eating a lot of ice can’t be a good thing. Your tonsils can get swollen and horribly infected, and, well, I don’t know, you could probably get a sore throat? And even if that’s the case, being ill doesn’t happen within minutes and it sure as hell does not cause you to randomly faint.
What a tourist: Damn Hachi, you haven’t worked a day in your life, have you? Look at him being all excited to work in a restaurant as a waiter and doing team-building exercises. Get real!
Yeah, that’s the style: Do you wanna help a homeless person and make sure they will cherish your advice? Just walk up to them on a rainy day while they’re being soaked, offer them a hair comb, and tell them to fix their damn hair. I’m sure they’re gonna love it. Alternatively, you can try screaming at kids wearing headphones.
Fishing for legendary fish in Japan: I’ve heard of rare legendary birds in far eastern mythology in the past; but to be honest, I have only heard about rare, legendary fish in video games like Harvest Moon. Amirite? Harvest Moon, anyone? Best game ever? No?
All these episodes do is leave me desperate and hungry for fish.
