This incident in Rumble Town is turning into one hot mess! Our protagonists have been trying to solve this disaster for a while now, yet the excitement still hasn’t died down! It’s now really a wonder how in the world they’ll defeat Hameline and the Nemesis. Radiant is really going strong, continuing to be being jam-packed with action and new discoveries.
Japanese Original Episode Title: 嵐穿ち舞い上がれ -Rising-
Seth won against Konrad at last, successfully saving the people of the 12th district and letting them go free. That’s one enemy down, and one more to go! One dozen, that is. Hameline and her Nemesis brothers had yet to be defeated, so that was the next item on his agenda. Teaming up with Melie and Grimm, they planned their course of action to at least try to incapacitate the Domitor. However, as they were charging onwards, Seth got blown away, and was saved by a mysterious cloaked guy from the Inquisition!
Truce: I’m so glad! Seth and Dragunov’s exchange before parting ways somehow gave off the impression that they’re officially rivals! Seth now knows Dragunov will be out to catch him, while Dragunov now knows what Seth’s intentions are. The best part is that, though they’re on the opposing groups, they both have the ‘Good Moral Compass’: saving people comes first! I love them both so much! (Also, I got excited at the revelation of Dragunov’s first name! Dart sounds dorky compared to Dragunov, though. Love it.)
Melie’s flashback: Aww, no wonder Melie valued friends so much! She failed to protect hers in the past. That’s why when Doc ‘died’ she got so desperate to save the citizens! I hope we’ll get to know her full backstory sometime soon and discover who her friend was.
Bizarre baby: Goodness gracious! I knew it was impossible for Doc to die, but I wasn’t expecting that he’d become a baby! It’s like he was literally reborn! Total shocker! When did he get infected by the Nemesis, anyway? And how does that molting curse work? Will he grow up faster, and then molt again after a certain time? Will he become a sorcerer after all this? Whichever case it is, at least he’s alright and alive!
Versus Hameline: Even though Seth was quickly blown out of the fight, I thought Melie and Grimm were perfectly capable by themselves! It was amazing how many tricks they had hidden in their sleeves (or should I say scrolls?). Plus, that huge lamp that Melie used to suck out Hameline’s Fantasia, and the incredibly huge sword Grimn wielded against the Nemesis, they were all such cool items! I’m a sucker for huge weapons. Too bad Hameline had even more secret skills, and a really close connection with her ‘brothers’. Maybe it’s because of that, rather than magic, why she could still control them despite losing her Fantasia.
Piodon: Gosh, it’s uncanny how Piodon resembles Seth so much! It’s like Seth met an older version of himself. Then again, once I saw Piodon’s face, I immediately wondered if they’re brothers; with what Piodon said at the end, that looks like the case. What are the chances that both of them have the same horns-on-the-head curse, though? And just what kind of guy is he? Is he going to be an ally or an enemy? He’s a sorcerer, yet he was with the Inquisition. Then he described himself as just a spectator. We also don’t know why exactly he met up with Seth. Just to give him advice on the seal on his cheek? (Surely Alma only wanted to protect Seth, as usual.) To ask him to side with a specific group? (Can’t Seth remain neutral and fight for the happiness of everyone?) Or maybe he just really wanted to see his precious family? (That’s cute.)
Themes & Trivia
Latin spells: We’re back to our Latin class! Caeca Nube, when translated together means ‘a dark cloud’, hence the smokescreen that Grimm used. Furtum Potentiam means ‘power theft’, which could’ve weakened the Source Nemesis or Hameline if Melie succeeded on using it.
I actually thought that this arc in Rumble Town will finally conclude with this episode, but now I can’t really predict what will happen. The way the story unfolded this time was still exciting though! We even got to know new things about the cast. My favorite discovery is definitely how resourceful Melie is! I’m just so proud of her and her plans, just like last time. Another one that I really liked was the fact that Grimm ran away at the sight of his blood! I am highly curious about that.
I just noticed that the art quality of this episode was less than superb compared to the previous ones. I found some derpy frames here and there. But it did make up for it with some awesome voice acting, especially Hameline’s!
Fighting side by side!
Rumble Town is still in danger of falling from the sky, so Hameline needs to be stopped, and quick! Will the next episode signal the end of the town, or will they succeed in apprehending the rogue sorcerer?
