Ainz’s paternal instincts strike again, this time with Nefu. It’s nice to see his human side every once in a while. Also, finally Nphirea and Enri are getting it on.
Japanese Original Episode Title: 二人の指導者
Enri just became the village chief and shit is getting real pretty fast. The village is attacked by the Giant of the East along with some ogres, trolls, and other atrocities. The goblins fight them back with everything they can and they kind of notice that the troll is acting a bit weird like it’s already dead. Meanwhile, on the other side of the village, Enri and Nphirea are attacked by a troll and try to buy time so it won’t reach the rest of the warriors. Enri goes to the goblins to seek help, but before she goes, Nphirea confesses his feelings for her. He then tries to fight the troll with his magic casting but he gets injured pretty badly. At that moment Lupusregina saves him, kills the troll, and invites him and Enri to Nazarick, as Ainz commanded her. After the assault was over and the village was victorious, Enri, Nemu, and Nphirea are headed to Nazarick where they are going to dine with Lord Ainz.
Nphirea is finally acting cool: That guy is super cute and there was no doubt that Enri would reject his feelings. I don’t like the fact that he is so self-conscious. He is so smart and kind and after the confession and the fight he is kind of cool as well. I have to say the way he confessed to her was very smooth. ‘I wish you would let me protect the girl I like.’ Way to go Nphirea, you are the man.
Ultimate Military Formation: When the goblin guy said that, I actually laughed out loud. What Ultimate military formation, bro? You just build a wooden fence in front of the wall entrance and started stabbing everyone to death. That strategy. Those skills.
Papa Bones strikes again: Even though he looks really unsettling when he wears that kabuki mask, Ainz must really like kids. Maybe it’s because his human form is at a certain age where he wants to have a family or something? Seeing him being all nice and sweet to Nemu was just the perfect continuation of last week’s episode with Aura.
Okay let’s talk about the food that was mentioned during the dinner scene:
Hors-d’oeuvre: An appetizer or starter is a small dish served before a meal. Hor-d’oeuvre in French means ‘outside the work’ — that is, ‘not part of the ordinary set of courses in a meal’. Some hors-d’oeuvres are served cold, others hot. A small number of food historians believe that the tradition may have begun in Russia, where small snacks of fish, caviar, and meats were common after long travels. However, it may be that the custom originated in China, possibly coming through Steppes, into Russia, Scandinavia, France, and other European countries.
Foie gras: Foie gras in French means ‘fat liver’. It’s a luxury food product made of the liver of a duck or goose that has been specially fattened. By French law, foie gras is defined as the liver of a duck or goose fattened by force-feeding corn with a feeding tube, a process also known as gavage. Foie gras is a popular and well-known delicacy in French cuisine. Its flavour is described as rich, buttery, and delicate, unlike that of an ordinary duck or goose liver.
Needless to say that all of the ingredients that were mentioned like piercing lobster and noatun fish are just in-game fictional products.
Lupusregina and that hamburger comment made me think that she really looks like the anime version of Wendy’s mascot… Is it just me? Yeah, probably…
For some reason, I really like Yuri Aplha and I would really like to see her in action. I hope Ainz is going to use her in the next missions to come so we can be introduced to her skills. Although her name would indicate some kind of perviness she looks quite normal compared to the rest of the Pleiades maids which is rather interesting.
Oh, poor Enri… You are just so clueless about what is happening around you and it’s so entertaining to watch. I don’t know if Ainz feels bad about manipulating everyone but it looks like he is doing a good job. Now that this Carne Village arc is gone, which was more light and fun, I am quite certain that some really bad stuff will come his way.
