That was such a great episode. Overlord is back in all its glory once again. Great sense of humor, engaging action throughout the whole episode, and OP Momon is once more into the spotlight. I honestly missed this.
Japanese Original Episode Title: 動乱最終決戦
Momon starts fighting Demiurge aka Jaldabaoth without having a clue as to what is going on. Meanwhile, Climb and Unglaus along with Lockmeyer start fighting Zero and Succulent, who is apparently still alive and has tricked them by taking the form of Tuare. Before Unglaus starts taking Zero seriously, Sebas along with the real Tuare come and he crushes Zero into seconds. Back to Momon, Jaldabaoth leaves the fight halfway as he has other ‘plans’ to attend to and Momon is left with Nabe and Evil Eye waiting for reinforcements. As they wait they see a wall of fire being cast inside the capital. All the forces gather up together and Princess Renner has forged up a plan as to what their next actions will be and how they can bring down the wall of fire, Jaldabaoth, and his demons.
Evil Eye has the hots for Momon: That was totally unexpected. It never even crossed my mind that she can go so out of character and fall for Momon. She might say to herself that she is old and mature but deep inside she is still a cute little girl. I loved her reactions to everything that Momon said so much! I just hope Albedo won’t annihilate her as soon as she sees her if she hears about this.
Momon is a so funny: Seriously, best main character ever. He has no clue what is happening through the whole episode but nevertheless, he tries not to show it and acts up like everything is going according to plan. Loved it when he was fighting with Demiurge and he almost said his real name instead of Jaldabaoth. Also that ‘Ho, ho’ when Evil Eye was telling him about resurrection magic had me dying.
Sebas is so badass I can’t even anymore: This guy deserves his own show seriously. The moment Zero said that he is the strongest man in the kingdom, Sebas comes in and I was like: ‘Yeah now you will see, Sebas will come and just flick with his fingers and you’re dead, my friend.’ And so he did. He just gave him a really intense head kick and managed to survive Zero’s attack because he was ‘slightly’ more powerful than him. He is trolling, the old guy is TROLLING EVERYONE. And one more thing. Tuare definitely wet her pants when he was holding her.
Demiurge aka Jaldabaoth: In the Platonic schools of philosophy, the demiurge (literally meaning the ‘creator’) is an artisan-like figure responsible for maintaining the physical universe. Depending on the system, demiurge may be considered to be either uncreated and eternal or considered to be the product of some other entity. Jaldabaoth, on the other hand, means ‘son of chaos,’ because of the Aramaic word bahutha, in the sense that chaos only exists in the imagination. He is also often portrayed with the body of a serpent, which might be a form that Demiurge will take in the following battle.
The power of Will-o’-the-wisp: When Lockmeyer is helping Climb defeat Succulent, he uses the power of Will-o’-the-wisp. A will-o’-the-wisp or ignis fatuus (Latin for ‘foolish fire’) is an atmospheric ghost light seen by travelers at night, especially over bogs and swamps. It resembles a flickering lamp and is said to recede if approached, drawing travelers from the safe paths.
Evil Eye is not as young as we think: According to the light novels, she really falls for him but she is hesitant to show her feelings because she knows she can’t have any kids and she can’t seduce him with her looks since she has stopped developing physically at the age of 12 years old. She also mentions that he would die while she will be alive which suggests that she can’t really age.
Climb is definitely improving in the way he fights, but his methods are not very fair. He literally crushed Succulent’s nuts by kicking them really hard in order to win. Even Lockmeyer was shocked and in pain when he saw that. Also when Princess Renner gives Climb his mission and Unglaus says: ‘Can I come too?’, the look he gave Climb was so passionate and a bit of lewd, like he meant he would do more things than just fight with him. Is it just me? Probably yes…
And on that wonderful note, I will give you a face of pure love and passion from our lovely yandere Princess Renner. This will hunt me down in my dreams for sure.
Once again well said Sebas. Wise and badass. I am sad to see the season coming to an end and I really hope that Sebas will be included in future arcs as much as in this one. Really curious to see how they will sum it up in the next episode!
