How awesome was this week’s episode of Overlord? This is what I was waiting for the whole season, I am so bumped that they decided to make it so interesting in the final episodes. Oh well, at least this means that there will definitely be a third season.
Japanese Original Episode Title:ヤルダバオト
The Guardians of Nazarick gather at the mansion where Sebas and Solution were based to put Demiurge’s plan into action. Demiurge divides the team into eight squads where each team will invade each of the Eight Fingers’ hideouts. Sebas and Solution are sent to where Tuare is held a prisoner in order to free her and Mare with Entoma are sent to one of the other locations. We then get to see the royal forces along with Blue Rose where they also get ready to invade the Eight Finger’s hideouts. Climb and Unglaus happened to be sent to the same location where Sebas was headed so they join forces and the mission seems to succeed flawlessly. Mare and Entoma are in Hilma’s mansion where they succeed in capturing her but Entoma stays behind which results in her bumping into Gagaran, Tia, and Evileye. After an intense battle, Entoma falls but Demiurge comes in to fight Evileye. Suddenly, Momon interrupts their battle asking as to which one of them in his foe in order to start fighting them.
Sebas has mastered his punching techniques: When he was coming up with a plan of action with Climb and Unglaus he just said: ‘I will deal with the six members of Eight Fingers, you go save Tuare,’ like it’s no big deal for him. And yes, he didn’t even break a sweat. With only four punches, Malmuist, Edstorm, Peshurian, and Davernoch were goners. I wonder why the author even bothered giving them names if they were that easy to beat… When that poor guy said that he is the Undead Lord, he was crushed in seconds. Who would dare to say this kind of thing when Momonga is around? And then they question Sebas loyalty, the one and only bro. Shame. Shame on all of them.
That Evileye is no joke:Who is this girl and why is she so powerful? I mean, for the non-Nazarick standards, she has immaculate skills and magic powers. She obviously doesn’t even stand a chance against Demiurge (who happens to be the weakest of the guardians) but again I am intrigued to know more about this character.
Entoma the cute bug maid:I was certain that we will get to see her in action in this season and I have to say I find her powers quite interesting as an Entomancer. Also, her true form is kind of grotesque as well. To be honest she reminded me of D’Vorah, a character from Mortal Kombat X who has similar powers like hers.
Themes & Trivia
What’s the deal with the mansion mission:It was weird to me that they didn’t manage to evacuate before Blue Rose arrived but then I was thinking maybe it was on purpose so that Demiurge and Momon can come into play. But no, I was actually right because apparently, and according to the light novel, Entoma and Mare’s original goal was to kill all the humans in the mansion, recover important documents, valuables, and then retreat to Nazarick undetected. They found a secret trapdoor filled with valuable items and drugs which delayed them and led to the Blue Rose showing up before they had properly evacuated. Another fun fact for you, Hilma (the naked lady with the broken leg) was a high-class prostitute before rising to her position as chief of the drugs division for Eight Fingers.
Am I the only one who sensed a lot of tension coming from Demiurge and Seba’s conversation? I wonder if these two actually get along now that they have their own ‘personalities’. I also believe that Demiurge is taking this very seriously because he really doesn’t want to disappoint Ainz and because probably deep inside he is scared that he might leave them like the rest of the Supreme Beings.
It is also kind of funny to see the rest of the characters struggling to fight Nazarick’s guardians and maids. If we don’t include poor Entoma, everyone else wins their fights pretty easily. Last thing, who divided the teams in Blue Rose? If most of them came to Hilma’s mansion, then who went to the other seven locations? And how come it’s fair that Climb (the weakest of them all) goes only with Unglaus, and that other guy and Blue Rose members stick altogether? Nice strategy guys, well played.
You are probably not a virgin but, what do you say?
Gagaran is terrifying when she is hitting on men. Overlord is soon coming to an end and I really hope that the last episodes will keep up the same pace as this one because I really want to see Momon in action this time. Cheers!
