Hey all and welcome to this week’s One Punch Man! Ready for some inanimate object adventures?
The episode begins with one of the most basic monsters of all time reporting to his very, very inanimate Monster King Orochi that the hero association has been doing very poorly lately and that YEAH the monster revolution, #itshappening. Wow, where did that come from? I have no idea, it’s not like it was been heavily implied for two entire episodes! I wanted to count how many times we’ve heard about the monster revolution already, but then I remembered that I am a sad lazy sod. Also, can I just say that the monster king looks boring and stupid as hell?
Meanwhile, back in the martial arts tournament, Saitama is kicking some serious ass. He is now in the final four and… I was gonna say I’m looking forward to seeing him fight, but am I really? He’s probably going to be against Suiryu, who is gonna be hyped to oblivion, then take him out with a single punch which we’re not even gonna get a glimpse of. Anyway, he is about to fight in the final four, and Sourface is lecturing him on things nobody really cares about.
Somewhere else in town, Garou is now ready to challenge Watchdog Man into a fight. Here’s something I am a bit more interested in as Watchdog Man looks like the blandest character in the history of everything and I am curious to see what they’ll make of him. And… nope, giant monsters jump in, looks like both of them are gonna be busier than expected and won’t be fighting anytime soon. COME ON, JUST GIVE ME SOMETHING!
As numerous uninteresting monsters start popping about again and the hero association switchboard is on fire, numerous uninteresting heroes join the game too. A robot, a pop star, and of course, a genius child, who is hiding in a very obvious place. Oh yes, and PIG GOD, that is basically a fat guy. His special power is eating. I am not joking. This is serious.
Back to the martial arts tournament, Saitama is against Choze who looks like your average psycho villain, blue eyed and all. Just as I am about to say that guy looks… wrong, he goes on and says he’s the result of ‘selective breeding’. I am OUT and not going to touch this with a ten-foot pole.
The battle in the CIty is still going, while somewhere else, some dudes we’ve never seen before called the Holy Order of the Sword or something lame like that are calculating their future moves under the assumption that Silverfang may lose to Garou because of the fact that Garou used to be his former student. They are planning to find Garou before Silverfang and kick his ass. However, one of them that goes by the name of Haragiri seems to say that this is not something they should be concerned with, laughs it off and instead brings something completely new to the table – monster cells. Apparently he’s been in touch with the Monster Association and they offered him a way to mutate himself into one of them. Why? At this point in the show, the animation is so bad I actually want to stop watching. I could do a better chiaroscuro as a 10-year-old and I’m not even a decent drawer. Caravaggio is probably rolling in his grave as we speak. Anyway, that guy turns into a monster and they fight or whatever. He gets killed. The Holy dudes head off to kill the monster club.
Finally, after a lot of unreasonable delays, Saitama is against Suiryu. It is painfully slow. The flatness of the drawing is almost criminal. The whole battle is literally a huge loop of hits. I can’t. I just can’t. Thankfully Saitama makes good us of his time in this match by making some pretty decent wig jokes. Then loses that wig and wins.
Seriously, thank god for the wig jokes, otherwise I would have fallen asleep.
