LAST EPISODE! With Garou facing the last few people that can actually defeat him, we all know what to expect… or do we?
So in the last episode we left Garou, ridiculously injured and with a hair color that screams ‘I want attention’ facing some pretty big boys. Genos was about to destroy him, when his ex-master, Bang, and his master’s brother, Bomb (who on earth would give those names for top-martial-artists characters?) show up and decide that no, Genos is not entitled to that win, and that they should be the ones taking care of the human monster.
The episode begins with Bang delivering an affluence of poorly animated punches to Garou, who is helplessly trying to fight back. The earth is shattered and trees are broken in half, but Garou’s bones just won’t break. This is serious. Forget plastic pollution; these guys are going to destroy the earth way before that. In an effort to escape, he gets kicked in a puddle of monster blood by bomb. And that when I’m thinking… yeah, he’s gonna be eating one of those monster cells, isn’t he? What a shame for such a yum-yum. Also, can we take a moment to appreciate that Genos now writes his own name on his clothes? What’s he gonna do next, become a rapper?
Before we keep watching Garou getting his ass handed to him for a little bit longer while waiting for Saitama to show up (have I already commented that this season is very little about Saitama and how I find this disappointing?) we get ANOTHER, yes, ONE MORE pointless, adding-nothing-to-the-story, uber redundant flashback of him as a child. Yes, he was bullied and therefore decided he wanted to be a monster. Super original. We get it. Apart from that, all the characters in his memory are animated as black shadows – we are talking ZERO effort here. Somehow these crappy childhood memories give him extra strength despite the fact that the was being punched for hours and previously poisoned, and now everything is different. OR IS IT.
A flying bird monster shows up and takes Garou out of the way, and as Genos is about to blast them to pieces, our good old Centichoro shows up to defend Garou and the bird. Am I the only one who finds the name Centichoro hilarious? Well, in case you don’t remember, Centichoro is massive, and as if there was not enough of a natural disaster taking place already, he is digging the shit out of the earth and probably causing some serious earthquakes. Where is Saitama?? Despite the little intro the bird gives for Centichoro and how Bang and Genos can’t defeat him, the remaining trio of fighters seems to be doing okay fighting him for now. After a really efficient attack, they take a moment to relax and check out if the huge monster is actually going to explode to bits. And… it does. It’s super effective. Centichoro explodes and sheds its skin only to regenerate immediately. Even Bang blurts out… seriously? At this point I’m wondering why Genos just doesn’t just run to call Saitama? More fighting goes on, then finally Genos gets into Centichoro’s mouth – I would rather die – and attempts to kill Centichoro from the inside. Delicious. Genos incinerates the monster then gets spat out like he was yesterday’s news. Centichoro gives zero shits and at this point I am laughing at the pointlessness of what I’m watching. WHERE IS SAITAMA, PLEASE. Finish this. Also, nakes Garo – very disappointing. I wonder if he has a cyborg-dick? Or if Garou’s hair will go back to normal, that haircolor does not work for him. Unexpectedly, King shows up with a speakerphone and asks Centichoro to come over and fight Blast (what). Centichoro rushes against King, and then, finally, FINALLY, Saitama shows up and finished the damn thing. Hallelujah.
And, yeah. That’s how to season ends. Ffff-
I wish I had Centichoro’s digestive capabilities when it comes to spicy food.
