My Hero Academia starts off the second-half of its third season strong! As All Might’s era has officially ended, Deku has to push on forward, carrying his predecessor’s will and quirk! Just thinking about what awaits him from now on, how he’ll forge his own path. It’s all very exciting to think about, isn’t it?
Japanese Original Episode Title: 編め必殺技
There’s still 10 days left in their summer vacation, but 1-A went back to class early! Or more like, since their summer camp was so rudely interrupted by villains, they were just continuing it now. It seems like getting their provisional licenses will be very hard, so they need all the training they can get! They were tasked to create ultimate moves that will help them pass. For Deku however, using his fragile arms could prove to be a problem…
Ultimate Moves: The fledgling heroes have just taken a step closer to becoming real heroes with their super moves! I was actually so happy for them because you could see that most have been thinking about their own moves since they were kids! Some were even already way ahead and have been using theirs from the beginning. As Bakugo demonstrated, the sky’s the limit with the number of moves they can create, and only their imagination and knowledge of their own quirks can hinder their progress. That’s why having teachers, specifically Ectoplasm and his clones, to help them improve quickly by taking note of their observations and giving them advice is such a privilege! We’ve only seen a couple of the new ultimate moves, like Tokoyami’s and Bakugo’s, but they were very promising so far! It made me want to see the others’ ASAP, and see how far they’ve come!
Development Studio: Actually, I didn’t immediately think of Hatsume when the talk of new costumes and gadgets popped, which is surprising given how passionate she was for her inventions during the Sports Festival! But still, it was so nice to see her again! I thought her eccentric personality was just the kind of boost that the new arc needed, especially with how heavy the previous one was. Anyway, just seeing her always so gung-ho on trying out her babies, but never getting disappointed when they malfunction, if not explode, it was very inspiring, don’t you agree? More so when Power Loader pointed out the mountain of inventions she’s created in such a short span of time! Like he said, she wasn’t afraid of failure, but constantly brought her ideas to life! No wonder he had high hopes for her!
Costume improvement: We may have seen Deku’s mom almost put a stop to his heroic dream a few episodes ago, but I’m grateful the show reminded us how supportive of a mom she really is! I may be reading into it too much, but it just warms my heart to know that the base of his costume is the symbol of that support she has for him. Also, Mineta’s opinion is garbage – Deku’s costume actually looks pretty cool, especially now that he never wears the mask anymore!
