Summer 2019 Anime: Official Twitter Hashtags & Pages
Summer is near, my dear friends, and our tablets and phones will need some extra space for all the amazing anime that are coming our way.
It’s time for the last pair to take their exams in this week’s episode of My Hero Academia! However, not only are they facing the greatest hero, but they also have the worst relationship between them! Should they say so long to their chance of enjoying the summer camp, or will they be able to pull it off somehow?
Japanese Original Episode Title: 爆豪勝己: オリジン
I found Midoriya and Bakugou’s fight to be the most painful. They were already fighting with each other from the get-go, plus, All Might really took his villain role seriously! None of the other students got hurt as badly as they did, right? I do hope their exam result and the things they learned from their proctor will all be worth it!
Midoriya vs. Bakugou? From how these two were interacting, you’d think they were the ones pitted against each other for the test! They just really seemed hopeless! Like Recovery Girl mentioned, there really was no ounce of teamwork between the two of them at the start! They just kept yelling at each other to the point that they it seemed like they didn’t want to listen to each other! I personally think that, so far, this is the pinnacle of their discord! Usually, it was just angry threats at Deku or minor bullying, but here, I could sense how much more aggravated Kacchan was towards him! I mean, he was just so pissed off that he hit him square in the face! Add in the fact that they weren’t agreeing on what to do against All Might!
Versus their idol: I find it ironic that, even though Bakugo and Midoriya can’t get along, they both look up to the same hero, All Might! I can’t say for sure if Kacchan’s level of awe for him is the same as Deku’s though, but what I’m sure about is that the Number One hero’s impact on him is just as big! So much so that Kacchan will do anything just to win! He’s been working hard just to get stronger and never lose to anyone, just as All Might never loses. The mightiest hero always wins no matter how many villains he’s up against or how strong they are! No wonder he objected to the idea of running away! He knew All Might wouldn’t just let them escape that easily. That’s why he gave it his all, risked breaking his arms just to distract and match up to All Might and thus allowed Deku to get to the escape gate!
Cooperation Compromise: They may dislike each other, but I think you could also see how the two respect each other, or at least, how much Deku respects Kacchan. He got punched in the face, was insulted, and had his opinions dissed, but instead of getting angry, he exploded when Kacchan preferred to lose instead of cooperating with him! If I were Deku, I would’ve gotten pissed off that he thought losing was better than working with me! The nerve! Well, it’s like All Might said, Bakugou noticed Midoriya’s incredible improvement, and that’s most likely why he was getting super riled up! When it came down to it, though, if they put aside their personal feelings and manage to cooperate, they can think up of a great strategy and be powerful teammates! They only won by the skin of their teeth because they were up against the highest wall this time, but I believe that if they sincerely work together against other opponents, they will always win! However, looking at their tandem now, it’s still quite a long shot. At least this was an improvement! Here’s to hoping Bakugou treats Midoriya a bit better after this… Though I’m guessing that if he hears about how Deku saved his butt again, he might just become even more furious!
Aftermath: This part of the finals is finally over! As Midoriya narrated, it was a mixed of different results! Some learned a lot and improved, while some failed and got discouraged. Hopefully, they will all be able to move forward from here on out, getting even better, stronger, and wiser, especially since it looked like the League of Villains might be making their move again with some new members! Stain’s impact on villain society really did help them out! This is bad!
Teamwork: As far as I’ve observed, being a hero also means being able to work alongside other people! You don’t get to choose who’s going to fight with you, even if you do have a sidekick. We’ve already seen Midoriya side by side with Todoroki and Iida when they fought the Hero Killer, so we know he can work with others. Hopefully Bakugou’s really only obstinate towards him, and that he can, somewhat, work well with others. Though I’m guessing Aizawa’s point in pairing them up was to improve their relationship.
While I did say that watching Deku and Kacchan was painful, I was only able to feel that way because the whole episode was quite enjoyable to watch! There was a lot of action scenes that I thought they animated really well, as usual. There were also some dramatic scenes that warranted emotions from the characters to be greatly conveyed. I also clearly felt the feelings in each part; there was suspense, shock, awe, and comedy! This was one of the most memorable parts of the manga for me, so I’m glad to have been able to see it animated so well!
Looks like we’ll get to see who passed the exams and who has to take remedial lessons next week! We’ll also get to see someone unexpected, Shigaraki in his handless-face glory! What’s he doing there in public? I can’t believe things are still abuzz with mystery, though the next episode is probably the last for this season! (I am so sad…)
Anyhow, how did you enjoy the two childhood rivals’ test? Was it amazing, meh, or bad? I hope I can read your thoughts in the comments section! A lot of series are ending this week as well, so check out our reviews on them!
