The ninth episode of Maou-sama, Retry! was prodigious and, by now, I can honestly say that I love this series. Comedy? Check! Amusing and smart characters? Check! Morals about life? Also check. Since this season is about to end soon, I want to announce that I crave for a second one. However, let’s move on to the plot!
Demon-Lord carries on the renovation of the village and the Bath House is finally ready. This anime felt a little empty without its usual bath scenes so, from now on, we’ll get to see many more of them. I’m curious to see how this little poor town will change after Kanai’s over with it… Meanwhile, you might wonder how he got enough money to finish the construction and to buy the bunnies new… bunny costumes.
Once again he brought an ordinary object from his actual dimension and sold it for a fortune! I have to say that his selling skills are great and, IF he ever returns to the real world, I expect to see him working in the stock exchange.
We also got to see more of Yuu and Tahara. Whilst Yuu is my favorite of Kunai’s avatars so far, I can’t say the same for Tahara. This pervert -but polite- dude has a thing for his sister. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Please, production, stop…
Blind Man: Maybe I’m over-emotional, yet the old man’s story touched me. It was sad picturing him in his glorious days and comparing him with his current helpless and blind self. Yuu healed him in an instant -by secretly using her hands of God- giving him back the gift of vision. This mad lady has a heart of gold. This action will surely make the village famous and Yuu will be recognized as the most skilled healer.
Shopping: When Kunai went for costume shopping, he ended up to the usual fancy shop. The main seller (the one who wears a ton of blush on his cheeks) keeps making me angry, with his servile and obsequious behaviour. Yet, he’s sometimes funny to watch.
Once again, I’m satisfied with this anime’s route and I can’t wait to see more! It turned out way more enjoyable than I thought and the music and artwork are improving. I’ll surely keep my eyes open for the upcoming EKACHI EPILKA’s works.
This relaxing episode was necessary, considering the amount of action in the previous two. I like how Kunai brings even more avatars and I’m curious to see if he’ll bring them all. Though, I was hoping to see why Tahara got ‘zipped’ when he got touched by the Demon-Lord… Maybe we’ll find out in the next episode. Till then, relax and enjoy the amazing troll this series is!
In conclusion, I’m hoping to get a new season, because I don’t want the story to be rushed. Do you feel the same? Can’t wait to read your opinion here, in MANGA.TOKYO!
