The fourth episode of Maou-sama, Retry! introduces us to a clever, beautiful, and sadist lady. Demon-Lord’s group seems to expand and he has gained many fans already. Wanna know more about his new companion? If so, keep reading!
This episode of Maou-sama, Retry! followed the events of the previous ones. Demon-Lord is still traveling with Luna and Aku, while both of them seem to have developed some… feelings towards him. I am curious to see how it’ll go, since he may look like a mature adult but, in reality, he’s quite young. During their journey though, they come across the headhunters from the previous episode, who are somewhat useless when they try to enter their sneaky mode -you know what I’m talking about. When the two groups meet and Demon-Lord saves everyone’s life, they just leave, without even bothering to capture him -at least they’re smart enough to understand that they’ve got no chance in winning. Since we’re speaking about headhunters, the ‘girlish boy’ never ceases to freak me out. Not because he has the looks of a lady, not even because he happens to have a more feminine voice than many other female characters, but because he seems to share the same love as Luna about his butt. Oh God, that sounds weird, but there wasn’t an easier way to point that out. Anyway, he/she seems to have a crush on Demon-Lord too, so our main hero has developed into Infinite’s Game Don Juan.
Continuing his thinking about how he can get out of this video game world, Demon-Lord calls one of his other avatars, Yu. Although she’s created by him and share some similar emotions, she has her own, crazy personality. And yeap, of course she has a crush on him too. Last but not least, did you really think that there wouldn’t be any bath scenes in a whole episode? Maou-sama, Retry! won’t leave its characters get dirty (hue hue hue) so, here you are, lucky viewer. Another bath scene. So far so good, and the show seems to follow an almost similar pattern to each episode. Is it boring sometimes? Maybe yes. Is it funny and relaxing to watch though? Sure!
Punchlines: This series is full of humorous and dirty punchlines. Jokes about butts, holes, and spankings, take Maou-sama, Retry! to a whole new level. Of course, the majority of them are cheap, but, they still remain hilarious and make me choke on my food.
New Entry: In this episode, we got introduced to Yu Kirino. She seems to have an interesting personality, hopefully the most complex one we’ve seen so far in the series. I’m curious to see for how long she’ll be ‘controlled’ by the Demon-Lord, before she decides to go super-villain mode by herself -which I’m sure it will happen!
This episode turned out to be quite interesting because of Yu’s appearance. Demon-Lord seemed to need a healer, so he gave himself one. Hopefully, Yu will become one of the main characters from now on and I am curious about her relationships with Lord’s other avatars. Do they get along? Or are they hostile towards each other because they compete for their creator’s love? I think that her entry was positive, since up to this point we got to see mostly little lolis, and I was kinda started to get bored of the same female characters.
What I didn’t mention is that Aku’s leg is finally healed. We didn’t get the chance to learn more about her injury, but thankfully, this little girl can live with no pain from now on. The sound quality was somehow improved compared to the previous episode, as well as the running scenes. I still stick to my opinion that Maou-sama, Retry! is a matronal work and we’ll see many good things from the production in the future.
‘I won’t abandon him, even if that means that the whole world will be my enemy…’
What do you think about Yu? Do you think we’ll see more of Demon-Lord’s avatar sooner or later? Can’t wait to read your comments here, in MANGA.TOKYO!
