We finally have a voice for the boss! I repeat: we finally have a voice for the box! Although we only got a few lines, the big boss of Passione will be voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi! Konishi is one of the tops of the industry, and his vocal range is very wide. I wonder if he will end up also playing ‘another’ character in this series…
Japanese title: ヴェネツィアへ向かえ!
Risotto shows us a small glimpse of his Stand as well as his ruthlessness. Meanwhile, Melone’s Stand gets ahead of itself, seemingly growing even more powerful. However, Giorno is able to defeat it with some gasoline, and it’s goodbye to one of my favorite Stands of the series. Melone himself is killed remotely by Giorno using Gold Experience. Goodbye beautiful pervert, I’m sad to see you go. Meanwhile, Bucciarati receives an order from the Boss to use Moody Blues to replay a message from Pericolo. He tells the team to retrieve a disc from a statue outside Venice and from there learn how to hand over Trish to the Boss. In an extreme attempt to stop the information from being leaked, Periocolo had already taken his own life after giving the message. Giorno and Mista are trusted with the task to retrieve the disk. However, a member of the Hitman team attacks the pair using his Stand’s ability to freeze.
We got our first true glimpse of the Boss this episode. Although we still haven’t seen his face, we got to hear his (gorgeous) voice, which has been provided by legendary voice actor Katsuyuki Konishi.
Ghaccio is probably the most relatable character for me. His fuse is VERY short, and stuff like language especially will set him off in a rage. Some of his rants are strikingly similar to my own… Thanks to his short temper and the fact that his voice provided by the scream-master himself Nobuhiko Okamoto, it makes sense that fans are already referring to him as ‘Katsuki Bakago with ice powers’, and to be honest, I agree.
I love the scene where Ghiccio dons his White Album skate suit and he goes straight towards the camera as he zips towards the car.
White Album: Ghiaccio’s Stand is named after the famous album of the same name by the Beatles. Interestingly, it is well known that there was a lot of tension between band members during the recording of the album. Perhaps this is why Ghiaccio is so easy to tick off?
Venice: Ghiaccio’s Venezia/Venice rant may have been a tiny bit confusing to understand. This is because a lot of what he’s saying is referring to how the cities are pronounced in Japanese. ‘Paris’ is almost always pronounced without the ’s’ in Japanese. Although the Japanese usually refer to the Venice as ‘Venezia’, many Japanese translations of certain titles will go for the English word ‘Venice’. To be honest, I agree with Ghiaccio here!
I’m very sad that we won’t be seeing any more of Melone and his Stand. I found them both to be very interesting, but perhaps we reached their potential in these two episodes. Taking his place is the easily-irritable Ghaccio and his Stand Frozone- I mean White Album. Although I wasn’t a fan of the CG used for the car this episode, White Album’s ice looked pretty slick, and along with the cool colors used this episode, I felt pretty chilly while watching the episode. It feels good to have a fast-paced battle, and to be completely honest White Album and Ghiaccio terrify me. I kind of want to eat ice cream, though. Ciao for now.
