As if the heat wasn’t making me uncomfortable enough, now I have another episode of this show to review. The good news is we are now past its midpoint, so the countdown to when this horror ends can now officially begin, hu-zzah.
The episode starts with the usual ode to his Taichiness and how strong and amazing he is and how he inspires everyone although he’s just a stinky noob. He shows up just in time to save poor helpless Rin from certain doom, his smugness increasing in each episode. I don’t know how I’ll manage to pull through this one, honestly. Even drinking makes this show look worse.
With some very basic drawn glow, Taichi uses a single punch to kick some monster ass. It’s so lame it makes me wanna cry. Literally nothing is happening. Taichi is chatting shit to his meek friends while they admire his power. The annoying twins from the previous episode are also here. Taichi and Rin have a little miserable moment where nothing happens. Again. The ultra bad guy who looks like he escaped right out of the 80s is also around talking nothingness. Some things going on in the guild. People think and talk about Taichi. The guild thinks and talks about Taichi, the huge tits assassin thinks and talk about Taichi, she even goes as far as to say that he’s the only one who ever treated her as a person (I am dying). Mysteriously, some person dressed in black shows up and hypnotizes her, causing her to walk around aimlessly (not much of a difference, I know, but just think more aimlessly, okay).
The battle continues and I’m just gonna let you guess what happens. The visuals are the worst thing ever. At some point, dragons show up, and Lemiya says they normally don’t care about war and stuff. But the 80s haircut guy says this has all been planned. It’s so badly drawn my eyes are bleeding. Taichi, somehow making himself the boss of everything, tells Lemiya and co to go back to the city and protect themselves. And everyone meekly leaves, except for Rin. They gotta keep showing some cleavage on the screen to keep people watching I guess. I hope Taichi dies. I really do. Even though I’m pretty sure he won’t… One can only hope. The dragon is warning Rin to stay out of this, they’re not killing her, just telling her to piss off. Then the assassin shows up. She doesn’t know why she’s there. The dragon attacks. I don’t understand what is going on. Looks like the assassin is gonna die. That’s one very disposable female character down. And even then, she makes sure to make her death about HIM! She dies thinking about how in love she is with him or something, I just can’t watch. Aerial now decides to show up, I suppose she was waiting for someone to die to make herself important. Also, what the hell is she wearing.
Long story short, Taichi form a pact with the Aerial spirit (who tells him to call her Aery hahah I am dying) and he becomes an official summoner now and beats the goddamn dragon. Is this over yet? Also, aren’t wind powers just the lamest? Anyway, the dragon says literally NOTHING, and leaves.
Thank god it’s over.
Please god, make it painless.
