HITOMI GOT BACK HER SENSE OF COLOR!! It was the best highlight of this week’s episode. In the last week’s episode, Yuta was admiring the starry sky from Hitomi’s star sand she’d made for Yuta. At the end we see the appearance of a golden fish from Yuta’s drawing in previous episodes. The center of this week’s episode focused Yuta and Hitomi’s bond and this golden fish. This week was a great focus on Hitomi and Yuta and things are moving in a nice direction.
Japanese Original Title: 黄金の魚
Unable to find inspiration to draw still, Hitomi tries to offer her help to Yuta. Sadly Yuta declines and becomes hostile towards Hitomi. Among this Hitomi sees the golden fish once again from Yuta’s previous drawing, leaves her confused as to what it means.
Color Is Back: The end of the episode left me feeling so happy for Hitomi as she can see color again but at the same time it was interesting to learn from Kohaku and her mother’s conversation, in the possibility that all this time, Hitomi used magic unconsciously. Using it on herself as could be the reason of her lack of color sense. If we find out later on this is the case, then that might explain a lot, but will see.
Rain Dash: How Yuta rejected Hitomi’s help made me so mad at first and then came that rain scene… In anime, rain scenes just know how to pull on your emotional cord. In that situation Hitomi run away as the girl didn’t know how to approach Yuta after how cold he was. I’m sitting watching the scene thinking ‘YOU BETTER RUN AFTER HER’!!. Which Yuta does and I loved every second more of that whole scene; Yuta’s reignited passion to draw returns to him in that moment. The golden fish from his award-winning drawing he won as a kid signifies the feeling of accomplishment and joy to me. Since that time seems Yuta had lost sight in his art and this episode Hitomi and Yuta, both gain something back, which they thought would be lost forever.
Colorful World: Hitomi on the train and the moment her whole world lights up again; it was a moving, gorgeous scene to see. The meaning behind it, Hitomi being able to see colors again just makes it that much more special.
I loved the focus this week on Hitomi and Yuta as they both gained something back: Hitomi her color sense and Yuta his reignited passion for drawing. The MAIN thing I cannot stop thinking about is that RAIN SCENE. I wasn’t expecting everything to suddenly turn dramatic, but the atmosphere was so gripping and couldn’t take my eyes away. Any rain scene in general with two characters where they’ll be a confession or something happens. You can never put your finger on why these scenes are impactful and addictive, especially anime rain scenes.
Despite the fact Yuta till now has been a jerk especially to Hitomi, after this episode I’m slowly warming up to the dude and by the end I might actually like him. At least he ran after Hitomi but there was no apology for how cold earlier in the episode he was; that SUCKED – in not that being included. All Yuta said was, ‘I want you to see my drawing’… that’s it, no apology, ugh. Animation was a color highlight this episode as well, especially at the end for Hitomi her grey world, wasn’t any longer dull. It was a magnificent scene to watch, all the colours jumping out at you.
Ah, I’m excited for where everything will lead to now!!
Once Was Lost Has Returned
The rain scene and animation were the best highlights this week and I’m left wanting to know. What it all means from Hitomi regaining her color sense and why she could see color in Yuta’s drawing. All in all another soothing episode from this visually beautiful series.
Let us know in the comments: what you thought of this week’s episode? Are you happy Hitomi regained her color sense?
