Kid gloves are off for Natsuo and Hina as they pursue a forbidden taboo between step sister and brother. Everything felt wrong in this week’s episode and no-one would blame you from turning away from this series. Because you did the right thing people, haha. Let’s see what a mess we have this week!
Japanese Original Title: そんなこと、言わないで?
Hina and Natsuo enter into a forbidden taboo and are no longer holding back their hidden desires. Hina suddenly moves out and leaves Rui feeling guilty as if she was the reason and separation from her sister. She unexpectedly seeks advice from the one whom you would least expect.
Forbidden Taboo: Well, it’s HAPPENED NOW. Now step sister and brother you think ‘ah, it isn’t so bad’. THAT’S where you’re so wrong as Natsuo and Hina are also teacher and student on top of being family, but now they are entering into a relationship. Do you see the complexity here, people? How much more discreet the pair has to be? Let me tell you it’s not going to last for long. I’ve watched countless anime with forbidden relationships but Natsuo and Hina’s relationship rubs me up the wrong way. It’s a hard pill to swallow when these two are on screen. Natsuo you don’t deserve Rui.
Affair Advice: Rui couldn’t have gotten worse advice. It was from the last person I expected, Hina’s affair and Natsuo’s club advisor. It was an awkward scene and convenient since Shu blurts out getting a divorce from his wife.
I’m No Responsible Adult: While with Natsuo, Hina admits how immature she is and sees herself as a failure. It was such a laughable scene because it highlighted a true fact about Hina’s character: that she is far from a grand example of being a responsible adult.
I’ll Be There: I found cruel giving Rui comfort over her sister moving out and saying he would be there for her. Little does the girl know that it will be a bombshell scene, folks.
It’s going to get harder till we reach the end of this complex love triangle. Also, it’s getting harder to find any words more to say about this series, oh boy. I don’t mind josei series that aren’t perfect and are a little messed up. Completely fine with me, but Domestic Girlfriend is not a series I’ll ever be revisiting; I can say that at this point. Natsuo and Hina’s relationship throws me off because I find the two very pathetic. At the beginning Natsuo was a confused boy going through puberty and I didnt completely hate his character; he was a nice guy. But now he’s just pathetic, and it was illogical for the series to make his fantasy of being with Hina a reality.
It would have been okay if the series had left his feelings for Hina as nothing but lustful wished and he later pursued Rui later down the track. No, this is a family love triangle, we have to have the complexity there. Hey, I like my train wrecks as the next josei fan, but this fan can say that she’ll never watch this anime ever again, even if I’m in the mood for some trash. At least, I’m having a laugh every episode with the series laughable plot.
Only four more episodes to go till we find out the outcome. The next episode should be interesting to say the least; it is called ‘Liar’. It can only mean Natsuo and Hina’s sweet bliss period will be found out quick. Oh this will be good!!
Tell us in the comments if you are still here watching this complex drama. What do you think is going to happen?
More drama next week!
