A couple of bombs went off in this week’s episode between Rui, Natsuo, and Hina. The line has been crossed between family and lover for this love triangle finally. This week was much more entertaining than the previous two but this show is still a mess.
Japanese Original Title: 大人じゃなくていいです
Natsuo is in confusion limbo over his own feelings toward Hina and Rui. Rui and Natsuo are caught in the act by Hina. who then announces her wish to move out during a family outing. Natsuo is determined to get to the heart of the problem – Why has Hina all this time been in denial?
Secret Kissing Exposed: It was a hysterical moment when Hina catching Rui and Natsuo in the act but I didn’t feel sorry for her. The woman has been in constant denial of her own feelings and how she’s been acting till now. Doesn’t make me think in the slightest that she deserves Natsuo; such a hypocrite is the woman. On the other hand, Natsuo is having his fill between Rui and Hina unintentional. The dude cannot just sort out his feelings.
Gather Round: After Hina runs away from Natsuo during their conversation, the cafe owner and some random acquaintance all gather round Hina, thanks to encouragement from Natsuo. NONE OF ANYONE’S BUSINESS, just was laughable getting others involved and a five-year-old giving Hina a lollipop as comfort. This whole scene was dumb and made no sense to include in Hina and Natsuo conversation.
Greedy Natsuo: I didn’t mind Natsuo at the beginning but he has become greedy. Hina expresses her suppressed feelings to him only made it worse. Ah, this scene truly showed how messed up the series is.
Identity Crisis: The past three episodes have been laughable and everything felt rushed. Right at the end of the episode, subtle music started playing and we got a serious moment. The attempt was a fail, trying to make you feel pity or sorry for Hina in her denial of feelings towards Natsuo. Also, her jealousy towards Rui, YOU CANNOT just chuke in a scene like this; it is ineffective and ridiculous. If this was the series trying to rectify itself… Well, it was all for nothing in my eyes.
Foreign Randomer: The addition of the American Japanese Al, I don’t understand the point of him there. Suddenly he is friends with Natsuo with a snap of a finger. His existence is pointless to me. Can we just mention for a second here of the accent he uses when attempting to talk English… it hurts my ears.
If you decide to stir away from Domestic Girlfriend at this point or beforehand, no-one would blame you. Granted, this episode was more entertaining than the previous three, it was beyond laughable. The attempt of trying to be a series towards the end of this episode was ineffective and any future attempts would be in vain. Know what else is pointless? Al’s character, introducing him through catching a panty thief. I was trying to come up for air during this segment in the episode. Was the series trying to be lazy in its characters now? Have we run out of ideas? I think we have.
We should all be happy Hina and Natsuo admitted their feelings while I’m sitting over shaking my head. It’s not a pairing I support. Natsuo is beginning to irritate me in his greediness and indecisiveness regarding his feelings. If anything, Natsuo deserves no-one now. Forget Rui, because they’re all as bad as each other. They demonstrate the messed nature of human thinking and illogical reasoning in our behavior in certain situations. Despite it all, this josei mess is still entertaining to me, onward we go!
The die has been cast on Natsuo and Hina now? Maybe next week it will be Natsuo and Rui? Who will win in this game of complexity?
More drama next week!
