Well, damn this complex love triangle just got more complicated than I thought and I love it. Two bombshells were dropped that have taken Domestic Girlfriend on an interesting route and I feel officially hooked now. The complexity of things right now might just become this series best strength, but we shall see.
Japanese Original Title: やっぱり、ホントなんですか
Natsuo is still concerned for Hina and what might have transpired between herself and her boyfriend. A moment of pure chance that Natsuo happens to come across confirms already what’s going on with Hina. Natsuo tries to confront Hina about it and that causes Natsuo to leave and stay over his friend’s place. Even when Natsuo does, he receives an unexpected visitor.
Couple of Shut-ins: After over-hearing women at his work, Kazuyuki expresses his frustrations on why these women put themselves in complex situations with scumbag guys. Natsuo and Kazuyuki put on a hysterical reenactment like in the movies of a couple trying to get together. That was an amusing scene and shows to me that Natsuo and Kazuyuki are truly a couple of shut-ins who know nothing about women or love yet.
One Good Friend: Natsuo has gone to Kazuyuki many times now for advice and I don’t see this as a bad thing. It might make it look like Natsuo can’t think for himself, but I have to agree Natsuo is pathetic at times. But it’s good that Natsuo has at least one guy friend he can go to for advice.
It’s An Affair: I felt dumb not catching on in the moment of Natsuo seeing Hina getting out of someone’s car, that oh it’s an affair. When it was confirmed, this just made this even more complex and I love it.
Bad As One Another: Hina shutting down Natsuo when he was concerned for her, was a bad move. Natsuo loses all control kissing Hina, which was predictable. The after slap and then kissing Natsuo back was not expected of Hina. Hina and Natsuo were both as guilty in their actions but I feel Hina was worse. Saying Natsuo is not ready and he’s still a child is very degrading, and not good towards Natsuo’s self esteem.
The Secret Plan: As things just about get more complex, Rui, Natsuo, and Kazuyuki secretly plan to tear apart Hina’s affair. Haha I shouldn’t be excited about this but I am.
Drastic turn of events for this week’s episode. Hina never came across to me as the ‘affair type’. This was a great plot point to makes things even more complex, the scene where Natsuo tried to show his concern for Hina in her current situation, only to be shutdown. Hina telling Natsuo to mind his own business in adult matters was a hypocritical thing to say. Adults are ‘suppose’ to know better but Hina’s cannot control her own current situation. I felt it was wrong of her also after slapping Natsuo to then ‘make a move’ that sent Natsuo the wrong signals. In the process, Natsuo’s self esteem took a bashing and it was not a good example to make in front of Natsuo. The complexity of the series right now is being handled interestingly. Where is the plot going? Shifting focus from Rui last week to Hina has been good since we got to know these girls better.
It’s also so intriguing to see what the so-called plan to sabotage Hina’s affair involves.
The Benefits Of Sabotage
I cannot wait to see how the secret plan turns out to break up Hina with her affair. Things have become more complex and I’m just loving every second of this hot mess. The series has surprised me so far.
