Oh man! I was overwhelmed with feels and suspense while watching this week’s Black Clover! Even though Vetto had just appeared, they didn’t hold back on the action at all! I was even more hooked since Magna and Luck were the ones on center stage!
Japanese Title: 愚直な火球と奔放な稲妻
Vetto and a few of his minions crashed the Temple Battle Royale! He easily knocked out Gio, the High Priest’s son and the most powerful mage in the Underwater Temple, in turn alerting everybody of the danger. As Vetto trapped Yami and the High Priest inside the monitor room, it was up to the Black Bulls and some of the temple mages to defeat the party crashers, with Luck and Magna as the vanguards!
Yami’s announcement: The High Priest’s idea of leaving Yami out of the battle for a fair fight turned out to be a wrong decision! If Yami happened to be out there fighting with his squad, dealing with Vetto would be much easier. Alas, Vetto knew this and was smart enough to trap him. Well, at least this proved to be another great opportunity for Yami to display his trust in his members! I know he’s not a sappy guy but he could’ve told them to run or to keep safe. Instead, he told them to surpass their limits. Against a powerful opponent who gave him a difficult time before, that’s like saying he believes they’d win, right?
Two vs. One: Luck and Magna did such an amazing job fighting against Vetto! As a matter of fact, when Luck mentioned that Vetto is stronger than Yami, I immediately thought the cheery berserker would be excited to fight someone that powerful! True enough, the way he fought proved that idea! I was so proud of Luck for managing to keep up with Vetto’s moves, and Magna for his assists and adding to the firepower! But, the cherry on top was their pride and dedication to being Asta’s senpai’s! They kept on remembering that their kouhai never once gave up, and it became their determination to never give up as well! Kind of like their hope to not give in to despair. That, in turn, allowed them to follow Yami’s orders to surpass their limit, by giving their all on a combo magic attack!! I don’t think it’s that easy to defeat Vetto, unfortunately, but I’m at least hoping it dealt him a very grave injury, especially since everyone sensed it was an insane amount of mana!
Best friends: Awww! I never thought Luck and Magna’s constant bickering was actually already a sign of their friendship, and that it started way back when they first met! I only thought they got closer after their last mission together, where they first tried the Crackling Magna Typhoon. Now I wish I realized it sooner! Then again, I guess the both of them only realized it now as well. Once everything settles down, I hope they get to be even better friends! That is, if they survive. Their sudden drama felt like a death flag, so now I’m terribly worried! I’m getting war flashbacks of what happened to Fuegoleon and Sister Theresa!
