An incident that started out with a mass kidnapping has now blown out of proportion, with a lot more people getting involved! Actually even as I’m writing this, I still can’t believe the Magic Knights and the Eye of the Midnight Sun would go head to head again this fast! What a mess! But, that’s Black Clover for you, topping excitement with even more excitement!
Japanese Title: 三つの眼
Yami came out victorious from his fight with Licht, all thanks to Gauche’s trump card. However, they couldn’t get back to the town and deliver justice to the criminals yet because their ride out of there, a.k.a. Finral, ran out of juice! As they waited, the Eye of the Midnight Sun’s three powerful warriors suddenly appeared to rescue their leader, and to murder the ones who defeated him. See? I told you this was getting out of hand!
Waiting: Gosh, I admire the Black Bulls guys for being somewhat carefree while waiting for Finral to recover his mana. I mean, they were like sitting ducks, vulnerable to any form of attacks, with their criminals only tied up somewhere near them! If I were in their position, I would’ve definitely been like Noelle who was super anxious because Asta, and their comrades, still haven’t come back! Sure, the kids were finally safe, but the rescuers were still in dangerous territory. Maybe they thought that was gonna be the end of it? Unfortunately, it wasn’t. So once again, the villains escaped, technically.
The Third Eye: Was it just me, or did Licht’s introduction of his top brass henchmen seem kinda overreaching? It’s like he was trying so hard to instill fear in his enemies by mentioning their (lame) titles, as if that proved anything. Little did he know that ‘In combat, they surpass me,’ was enough of a terrifying statement… Well, let’s at least give him credit for being very proud of them. I’m just wondering why he’s their leader if they’re superior to him in terms of power. They looked quite loyal to him too, with that girl, Fana already declaring murder because Licht was hurt. Speaking of which, doesn’t her name ring a bell? Is Fana possibly the same girl who was friends with Mars, the guy they faced in the dungeon? Is she the one who’s supposed to be dead because he killed her during that battle royale? I mean, her grimoire is the same freaky-fused grimoire as Mars’, and her features are the same as Fana’s! Well, except for the longer hair, dead eyes and the gem on her forehead. That can’t be only coincidence.
Three vs. One: Even if Licht didn’t introduce them properly, the Third Eye’s actions were already sufficient to answer why they’re worthy reinforcements. Heck, one of them was able to copy magic! That alone is already insanely unfair! There has to be a limit somewhere, and I highly hope they let us know what that is, or else I’ll deem Raia OP. To think his constant yawning was already annoying enough, but I also had to deal with seeing him copy Yami’s magic. His two allies also gave Yami such a hard time! Vetto broke his sword, and Fana had a spirit ally, just like Yuno! Seriously, I thought Yami was gonna lose. Yet all that while, he still had the gall to make even more jokes, and command his subordinates to stay back and be safe, so it really seemed like he was gonna handle it. I was very curious how. Turned out he just felt like something will awaken in him, which seemed like a jab at those last resort superpowers other shounen protagonists get, don’t you think?
