Surviving a life or death situation can be quite tough! Even just working really hard makes one want to laze around for a whole day, right? So it’s just fitting that our heroes get to relax and enjoy, which is what Black Clover‘s latest episode is all about! Fun and mayhem ensue once again!
Japanese Original Episode Title: とある日の城下町での出来事
Coming back from their first mission that evolved into stopping a mass murder, the trio broke the good news and the bad news to their captain. But, that’s the end of what they can do, since it’s now up to the higher-ups to investigate. At least the Wizard King heard of their feats and rewarded their squad for it! As for the members, they deserve their salary and a day-off!
Report: I couldn’t help but be a skeptic when Vanessa and Finral reported that the Magic Investigation Department couldn’t find out anything about the watch Heath left behind, and when Yami said they’ll pass this issue to them. Given that someone from a renowned squad for nobles and royals is involved, I bet it’ll end up getting brushed aside! Or worse, whoever sniffs too close will get in trouble! Conspiracies, you know? Well, at the moment there’s no use worrying about it. What’s important is that the Black Bulls were the ones who caught wind of it. If ever a problem arises as expected, who better to tackle it than the group of outcasts! Plus, they got commended for a good job by the Wizard King! He only sent a gold star though, as if this was kindergarten, but it’s still a big deal since it’s a badge of honor! Especially for Asta and his dream to become the next Wizard King, so much that his fantasies were going way over the top!
The Black Bulls’ day-off: I loved that, aside from getting to know what Magic Knights do on the job, we’re also shown what most of them spend time on during their rest days! Although, whether at the base or outside, the Black Bulls still never change, so I guess there’s not a lot of new info there. It also told us just how infamous their squad is! At least Vanessa didn’t spend the whole day drinking, but toured her adorable kouhai instead! She even took the initiative to find Noelle a magic item to help her control her powers! What a good onee-san! At least now the princess is experiencing how life is like for commoners, and properly forging a bond with her peers! Seems like her crush on Asta is slowly developing as well, becoming a tad bit jealous when he mentioned he wanted to marry Sister Lily, and growing conscious of him that she shoved him off the broom again!
Reunion with Sekke: Well, I thought the entrance exam was the last we’ve seen of Sekke, but he and his ‘Bah-ha!’ are here once more! Forgive me for being harsh but, the guy was so pathetic! If he’s even half as interested in being a Magic Knight as Asta is, then he’d be thankful no matter what squad he got in! At least he was useful in his first mission, and at least he’s helping people by subduing pickpockets, right? His ‘rival’ got into the worst group there is and got close to death, too, but he’s fitting in quite well; heck, even Noelle, who didn’t want to be there, has started enjoying herself! Remember kids, it’s all about perspective! Now, I just hope that their run-in with a thief will get some character development out of him! It’d be nice if he could become more likable, and another ally for our protagonist!
