Nayu’s power: When she is in contact with someone else’s fluid, she can double up their abilities. Right… Very… uhm … innovative yes.
Everyone wants to get laid: Even if it’s a fantasy RPG, everyone is looking to get laid and do ecchi stuff. The guys tried to get their way with the girls, Nayu wants to get it on with everyone, and let’s not talk about the occasional tentacle porn that was happening everywhere. Jeez.
Haruto & Miyako: YES. FINALLY SOME DRAMA AND SOME ROMANCE IN THIS SHOW. Please. The love-triangle is going to become a square, OH YES.
Themes & Trivia
TRPGs: It was explained fairly well in the episode but I will add some things:
Unlike other types of role-playing game, tabletop RPGs are often conducted like radio drama: only the spoken component of a role is acted. This acting is not always literal, and players do not always speak exclusively in-character. Instead, players act out their role by deciding and describing what actions their characters will take within the rules of the game. In most games, a specially designated player called the game master creates a setting in which each player plays the role of a single character. The GM describes the game world and its inhabitants; the other players describe the intended actions of their characters, and the GM describes the outcomes. Some outcomes are determined by the game system, and some are chosen by the GM.
References: There are so many references to other anime in this episode that it was seriously out of control. All the lewd stuff are certainly a reference to Masou Gakuen HxH along with Fate/Kaleid. Miyako’s and Chihiro’s magical power probably references to A Certain Magical Index and Itsuki’s to Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works. And the pervy scene with the tentacle porn, you could say that it’s referenced from Tower of Druaga.
I like how this anime is giving out information about geeky stuff. Board games, RPGs, etc. It’s nice to see them playing games and actually showing up little screens with the rules and everything else that is needed in order for the viewer to follow up what’s happening. Pretty neat, I would say.
I still feel bad about Haruto and his work and what makes me feel even worse is the fact that this kind of thing actually happens a lot in the anime world and probably in every creative industry out there. People might try their best to achieve something great but because of a cocktail of reasons, it might fail. This might be budget related or who knows what else. So sad to think that so many people work their hardest to produce something and end up failing. Oh well… life sucks anyways.
I am going to express once again the fact that I am now shipping Haruto and Miyako. Let them all become couples and the show will become even more lewd and interesting. Trust me, romance is what is missing here.
