The anime is part of our weekly anime previews.
Kazusa is one of five female members of the literature club at her high school. One day they talk about things they want to do before they die, and the answer of one of the girls throws the club into chaos. From that day on, the girls start to think more about sex.
I am not sure this is what I expected. While the topic – girls telling each other what they want to do before they die – can get a bit sexy and I was sure the topic of sex would come up, I didn’t think it would be like this. From what I could tell from the first episode, this series isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be! Sorry for the prejudice! This has a lot of potential. These are girls who are facing their sexuality for the first time and while I think high school is definitely way too late, it seems like an accurate representation of Japan. Girls don’t like masturbation, some girls are really pure and don’t even want to hear about boys thinking of sex, and what happens at home stays at home. When our heroine is facing her male best friend and his sexuality, it is hilarious and shocking and I am very much intrigued to watch more of this series. It seems like it could be a wonderful story that teaches Japanese teens a few things. My love right now goes out to Kazusa and her childhood friend, because they seem so cute. I am not sure I like or understand Rika and is it just me or is the synchro for Hitoha a bit… off? In any case, I think I will watch a bit more of this series to find out where it is going with the story. So far this was the positive surprise of the season for me and I am looking forward to the second episode!
