Summary

Hazuki Kagimura finds escape from her life and her bad relationship with her family in books. One day, she is transported to another world where fairy tales and stories choose girls to bestow them with magical powers.

This was,…interesting. Of course, it was the title that got me to watch it because if you already use a German title (that actually does make sense), I am sure to be intrigued. Also, as a fan of fairy tales and all the stuff around it, I did want to watch at least the first episode, to see if I would like it. While I can’t say I disliked it, I am not sure I liked it too much either. It is definitely one of the weaker series this season. But it does have its strong points.

For one, I really like the main character. On some level, I could connect with her. She is escaping the real world by reading books and I think I am also someone who likes to escape from this world by not leaving the house and reading for three days straight. She is pitiful and she knows it, but she is not whiny about it. The way she reacts to suddenly having magic in her life is also very cute. Male viewers who are really into fanservice would probably also be happy with the first episode because our main character is running around naked for the majority of the time. Thankfully, it was animated very tastefully so even I could laugh about it.

So in the end, you can try to watch it if you like this kind of series with cute little girls, a nice story, fairy tales, magic, and a bit of fanservice. I am not too sure if I will keep watching the series, not only because they don’t pronounce Mädchen all too well, but also because I just don’t know if the story has enough to offer, compared to some of the other amazing series this season. Maybe I will come back to it, when I have more time and less good shows to watch.
