Japanese Title: ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 黄金の風
Giorno Giovanna lives in Italy, Neaples, and is the blood-related son of the Joestar family nemesis DIO. He was persecuted when he was young, but the person that taught him to trust people was a gangster. Strangely enough, this encounter with the gang that doesn’t forget their obligation and who to show respect to sets his mind straight. And that’s how Giorno decided to become a Gang-Star (Gangster-Superstar). The 15-year old Giorno then gets into trouble with Passione, the leading gang of Italy’s underground world, and becomes their target…
The story is set two years after Part 4 (Diamond is Unbreakable) and takes place in Italy in 2001.
This is by far one of the most hyped-up series of the year both in my heart and in the anime community in general. I only got into JoJo a few months ago and managed to binge the entirety anime so far in about a month and I’m currently up to Part 6 of the manga. So yeah, I’m a huge fan. Golden Wind is the first series which I will be watching weekly, as well as the first series where I have read the manga prior. Although it isn’t my favorite JoJo part (that award goes to Part 3: Stardust Crusaders), I adore the story and characters.
The first episode did a great job, but it’s still too early to make a decision as we have yet to meet the rest of Bucciarati’s gang or even learn of Giorno’s aim. However, episode one promises that we will get the same level as bizarreness as always. I think one of the most important factors here will be the quality of the opening sequence, so we have to wait until the airing of the next episode! I will be reviewing every single episode of the series, so please follow my weekly reviews for more fangirling as well as my judgement as to whether or not the opening is worthy of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure!
