The anime is part of our weekly reviews.
Fire Force is a fantasy story about the Special Fire Force Company 8, who face a dark battle against something they call spontaneous human combustion, which suddenly appeared in the world. Humans turn into living infernos called Infernals. Newcomer Shinra, nicknamed ‘Devil’ due to a certain power he possesses, is determined to strike down these Infernals and become a hero for humanity and throws himself into the fight!
I couldn’t understand the hype behind this anime until I got to watch its first episode. Hardcore shounen fans should be very excited about this anime. Fire Force is a great shounen. It’s one of the most anticipated titles of the summer season, and it didn’t fail to entertain me with its good introduction of characters. I like heroic stories like My Hero Academia and One-Punch Man. They offer some very inspiring lessons and Fire Force captures the same heroic route of the protagonist from these well-known titles. Also, if you like the art of the popular anime Soul Eater, then Fire Force would easily get your attention as both series have the same creators. The title sports quite a few characters so I’m hoping that each of them gets a decent screen time and character development. It is set to have 24 episodes, so I would expect a very promising story.
From the second I started watching Fire Force, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of it. Its mangaka being the same as the one from Soul Eater is only the beginning of my love for this anime. I honestly think this show did nothing wrong at all. The main character was given an interesting backstory, the side characters were given some personality, and the main premise of stopping the random fire demons that appear in a Ghostbusters sort of way is solid. The visuals with the fights and the use of fire were amazing. I honestly can’t wait for more.
