The promotional campaign includes various presents including special illustration cards. The SAO characters that decorate the restaurant are wearing the Nakau uniform. How about a photo report from inside the restaurant? Let’s go!
Once I got there, the restaurant’s collaboration sign board caught my eye. Kirito and Asuna were wearing the Nakau uniform and were standing on both sides of the Nakau logo. The collaboration sign board was made especially for this campaign.
The entrance was under the sign board, and Lisbeth and Silica were standing on either side of the door.
Once I entered the restaurant, illustrations of the characters were decorated all around. The five characters wearing their original clothes were lined up at the back of the restaurant. The visual for the movie Ordinal Scale was also hung up. The whole store was lavishly decorated with Sword Art Online!
There was also a recording of Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna) playing in the restaurant. Asuna was explaining the campaign in the voice of a new employee who was asked to make announcements in the restaurant. She said that her favorite item on the menu was oyako-don (a rice bowl topped with chicken and egg).
The vending machine for the food tickets was also part of the collaboration: Asuna’s voice called out the name of some of the items. In fact, I did hear Asuna saying ‘Oyako’ when I bought the ticket for Oyako-don. I wanted to buy other tickets as well to hear her voice.
*NB At some Japanese restaurants, you pay for the items you want at a ticket vending machine. You then give the tickets to the staff member. Simple!
The campaign will be divided into two parts and will be held from February 8 to March 14, 2017.
The first part began on February 8 and will continue until February 21, 2017. Special illustration cards are given as a bonus when certain menu items are ordered. One of six kinds of character illustrations wearing Nakau uniforms will be printed on the card. The second part will run from February 22 to March 14 2017 and one of six kinds of character illustrations wearing their own clothing will be printed on the card.
There is also a web campaign running. 1,000 lucky people who make a purchase from an online store and apply at the campaign website will be able to get special character goods. The spotlighted item is an A3-sized voice tapestry on which Asuna’s voice is recorded, and is listed as the ‘A prize.’
