A special stage event was held at Zepp Tokyo in order to celebrate the opening day of the movie Suki ni Naru Sono Shunkan wo. –Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai- (scheduled to come out in December 2016).
It was a spectacular event packed with a variety of exciting content such as the movie screening, a stage greeting by the movie’s cast and Nogizaka 46’s members (Sayuri Matsumura and Manatsu Akimoto), the cast’s special stage recitation of a brand new original story written for the event and a live concert featuring the songs from the movie. This grand-scale event lasted for about 3 hours.
Here is what happened on this massive event filled with so much energy and excitement.
Suki ni Naru Sono Shunkan woEvent Report
The stage greeting started in a lively mood at the fully-occupied venue. When Sayuri Matsumura from Nogizaka 46 greeted the audience with her trademark phrase ‘Sayurinko Punch’, the voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka reacted to her with his improvisational phrase ‘Tsuguringo Punch’. The funny dialogue between them drew hearty laughs from the audience.
Gero confessed that his role, Midori Hamanaka, has the same name as his actual first love. When he said a few words directed to his first love, who might have been watching the live show, the audience got surprised and extremely excited.
Sayuri Matsumura from Nogizaka 46 plays heroine Hina Setoguchi’s best friend, Kako. When she was prompted to talk about the movie in front of the amazing line-up of cast members, she replied in an excited tone as an enthusiastic anime fan, ‘I’m definitely the most excited person among the people gathered here as well as the people watching this live show now!’
Matsumura is a huge fan of Honeyworks’s music and her involvement in the movie’s production as a voice actress was an official offer from Honeyworks. She once again expressed her great joy to having the chance to voice act and sing the ending theme song, ‘Although I was on the audience’s side before, my point of view on anime has changed after this voice-acting experience.’
Momoto Asakura and Natsuki Hanae were also very excited to have sung the song for the movie and they received high praise from the other cast members.
In addition, the opening theme song Senpai by HoneyWorks meet TrySail was released on December 14 and ranked fifth in the J-POP music ranking. Momoto Asakura and Sora Amamiya looked both surprised and delighted and they expressed their gratitude amid the thunderous applause.
Live Script Recitation
In the recitation, the movie’s cast members read out the script of a brand-new original story written for the event. The audience listened closely to this exclusive live recitation by the professional voice cast mostly in silence, but you could hear a drowned laughter now and then. The recitation included some rare interactions between characters who didn’t have the chance to connect with each other in the movie. This session turned out to be a blissful moment for all the fans who were waiting for their favorite characters’ appearance.
Special Live Concert
The voice cast along with TrySail, CHiCO with HoneyWorks, and sana showed up on stage to give a unforgettable special live concert. Besides the movie’s songs including Senpai, they also performed the mega hit songs from the same series. During this special live concert they played a total of 14 songs. The venue was filled with deafening cries of joy from the audience.
