Hello! I am Kitahata, the editor-in-chief at MANGA.TOKYO. I live in Japan and turn press releases from Japanese companies into articles that are easy for those outside of Japan to understand. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
Sagrada Reset (Sakurada Reset) held a pre-screening and review event on 2 May 2017 at Yomiuri Hall, Tokyo.
They first showed Episodes 3-5 and the cast, Kaito Ishikawa, Kana Hanazawa, Kotaro Nishiyama and Rikako Aida appeared on stage after the screening. They talked about scenes that left the deepest impression on them, told stories from behind the scenes and more.
Kotaro Nishiyama, who voices Hitsuchi-kun (Unknown Number-kun) in the series, told the audience something about the recording process. At first, Nishiyama recorded his lines, which were then sent to Noriko Sakura, who voices the automated response machine Hitsuchi-kun uses to communicate with Kei. She then performed her lines in the same way Nishiyama did.
The cast was then asked about the scene from the episodes screened that left the biggest impression on them. Ishikawa chose one from the later half of Episode 4. ‘The scene where the head gets blown away.’ He was shocked by how real it looked. Hanazawa and Nishiyama also chose scenes from Episode 4, where Kei gives Haruki the hair clip and from Episode 3, when Haruki starts to use ‘meow’ in her dialogue etc. All the scenes were ones in which Haruki is throwing all her cuteness at Kei and the viewer. Aida, who was at a screening event for the first time, chose a scene from Episode 5, where Sawako shows her real intentions. Her reasons for her actions left a deep impression on her.
The next question was ‘What kind of power would you have, if you lived in Sakurada?’ The four guests chose abilities like being able to make all sound effects with their voices or seeing the future to know which clothes to wear on stage. They mentioned many abilities connected to their work as voice actors.
When they were asked, ‘What would you do if you could rule over Sakurada?’ Nishiyama said, ‘I want to regulate the weather.’ Ishikawa jokingly shot back, ‘Does that mean you want to become a god?’ Other answers were, ‘create a talent agency with other people having special abilities,’ ‘making an independent state,’ and more!
At the end of the event, they shared information about the next screening event. On 30 May 2017, Episodes 9-10 will be screened at the Japan Education Center. This time, Sumire Souma’s voice actress, Aoi Yuki, will also be attending. Pre-order tickets are available until 11 May 2017.
