The organiser said, ‘This time will be amazing, too’
With a beating heart I waited for the door to rise and…a fragrance wafts across the room. Roses?
At the entrance to the screen are heart-shaped balloons and there are even bubbles floating around.
It’s impossible to smell it through a computer screen, but the whole theatre was enveloped in the smell of roses. It is probably because of the name of the main characters’ school being ‘Edel Rose’. It smelled really lovely.
The roses were made by the staff!
‘Go over the rainbow to your seats’ (The films’ slogan is ‘Go over the rainbow!’ and the group’s name in the movie is ‘Over the Rainbow’). This shows just how much the theater cares for its fans. At this point one fan was even crying – me.
The audience already had their glow sticks switched on, despite the movie hadn’t even started yet! What a sight!
Oh~! It’s finally starting! A big ‘thank you’ to the production company and sponsors!
Avex Pictures~! Tatsunoko Productions~! Takara Tomy Arts~!
The tension is at its max!
It looks really pretty here from the back. From here you really start to feel the subwoofer! You can feel the vibration of Kouji-kun’s bass. It really looks like an Over the Rainbow concert. Is this a huge arena like the National Stadium..? Osaka Castle Hall…?
It isn’t just the sound of the bass, but also the sparkly sounds of the Prism that come through, actually feeling like they are hitting your body. I just couldn’t believe it. It’s difficult to explain in words, but it made my chest hurt.
The feeling is very similar to the one you get when you go see your favourite idols at a concert. It felt like the characters who up until now had only existed on a screen were suddenly there in front of you. Including myself, there were so many guests who were watching the movie crying. What an amazing sub woofer screening….
Alexander makes his appearance! We’ve waited for it, EZ DO DANCE!
As everybody gets super fired up, the floor and seats start to shake with sound! sound! sound!
The explosion sounds are part of the scene, but it almost feels like I am taking part in the dance battle myself, as the realistic sound makes it feel like I’m right in the middle of the explosion. It was already a scene that got you fired up, but this time I got fired up so much you could even say it was the most fired up I’m been in my life. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
Burning Sword Breaker!
What’s amazing is that it isn’t just the explosions that sound awesome, but even the sounds of the lips, too. It’s almost as if the voice actors are speaking directly to you…. [blush]. If you are a fan of Tetsuya Kakihara, then it may be worth coming just for the sound of his lips.
Then here comes the song Flavor. The reason for the number of glow sticks being so low here is probably because so many of the guests were fighting back their tears. I was also welling up, so I found it hard to watch this scene holding my face with a handkerchief.
The Prism Show of Shin-chan, one of the protagonists! We are one with the on-screen fans!!
We all shout the names of the female characters from the previous movie, Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live! Naur-Cha~n!
Everybody was shouting about how amazing the Prism Show was. It’s not often you get to feel this kind of invigoration.
I can see so many rainbows in this picture! We are all fans!
The cheer screening doesn’t end until the teaser for the next movie is over!
The next movie is KING OF PRISM -PRIDE the HERO- and will be released on June 2017. I can’t wait!
It’s easy to get addicted to KinPri!
Did you like the photos? It’s such a shame… it is impossible to explain the passion through words and pictures. After the screening of the 75-minute movie, it felt like I had spent the entire day at a festival (My throat was seriously hurting the next day). However, all the fans who came to see the movie were super happy and had smiles plastered across their faces. I once again felt just how amazing the prism shows are. This time around, there were fans who exclaimed ‘It was amazing!’, ‘How addictive’ and ‘wow’, so it seems the screening was successful in getting new fans addicted to KinPri. (Yay!!)
The secret to the movie is that just watching it one time makes you say, ‘one more time’ and then ‘one more time’ again. Every time you see the movie the reactions are different, and the shouting you can do is so much fun. And by combining that feeling with the amazing sound at the Tsukaguchi Sun Sun, it feels even more like a real concert.. That may be the reason why Tsukaguchi Sun Sun’s KinPri Cheer Screenings are so popular.
After the screening, the organiser joined the room and everybody shouted things such as ‘Instead of thank you’ and ‘let me say I love you!’ (Instead of thank you, let me say I love you is the ending theme to the movie.) I had never experienced such a cosy feeling at a theater as I did that day.
There were actually guests who had come here all the way from Tokyo! The trip Tsukaguchi Sun Sun was totally worth it. What you get is much more that the price of a ¥1600 yen ticket.
For you readers out there, how about giving Tsukaguchi a try? I hope you can visit this small theatre, which is in its 63rd year of operations! And it may be a little TMI, but the toilets are really clean! Please come and try it for yourself! [laugh]
To the people that helped me get the interview, the cosplayers who let me take their photos, and the people of Tsukaguchi Sun Sun, thank you oh so very much!
MANGA.TOKYO will continue to support KING OF PRISM and Tsukaguchi Sun Sun!
