I heard, that there will be a parade at the event, but there were so many people, I couldn’t see anything!
Even though it was sad, I gave up halfway through…
Heyyy! That’s the Army of Zeon, marching!
Gihren-sama! Sieg Zeon!!
And of course, there weren’t only anime cosplays!
Chewbacca from Star Wars
Wow! This must be the real thing! I wanted to pet him, but he backed away so I gave up quickly.
This is Deadpool.
I love Deadpool, so when I saw him, I let out a tiny scream and he posed for me. Kya~ so cool!
And Zootopia. So cool… Nick looks awesome.
There were also Kamen Riders at the Street Festival.
Of course, there wasn’t only Kamen Rider W, but many riders. It was like a live show all over the street. The kids were very happy to meet them and got to take pictures with them. I always ask myself how they make the rider suits.
This is an original steampunk costume.
You can’t see it well on this picture, but the thing on his hand moved a lot! Mo~m! I want one like that!
Splatoon! Spyke’s hair was really…spiky.
After a while, I got tired of the crowd, so I went off the main street, where many food stalls were. Something smelled really nice, and when I looked around I saw Gin-san and Kagura from Gintama. Kagura was managing the waiting line at a ramen restaurant. Even though the street wasn’t very crowded, there were many nice ladies in cosplays, baking sausages or selling beer and I could feel their enthusiasm. It is nice to take a break with light snacks and drinks in a less crowded place than the main street.
Even the parking area became an event space!
The kitchen car from the Hand Shakers x Animate café collaboration was also a great success!
Aside from that, you could take a picture with the red samurai armor of the Sanada clan, look at the vehicles of the self-defense force, see idols holding mini lives, and DJs playing anime songs. There really was everything an otaku could ask for.
‘Eh? But it doesn’t feel like it ended at all?’, I thought when a big garbage truck drove down the main street like the police car in the morning. After the event was over, everybody started to collect the garbage on the street together.
Ah, it seems like the event earlier didn’t even happen. It’s kind of lonely.
But even though there were so many people, there is hardly any garbage. People cleaned up fast and with that, chances are high that the Street Festival will be held again next year! Considering how it went this year, I am pretty sure we can visit the festival again in 2018!
In the end, because it was too much fun to take pictures of all the people, I didn’t take any more pictures and kept walking for four hours. It is unusual to hold an event where cosplays are okay in the middle of the city. If you ever end up in Osaka, why don’t you try and come to the Street Festival in Nipponbashi? If you like festivals, you won’t regret it and if you like cosplay, that’s even better!
As there were too many pictures to put them all in the article, we uploaded them to our FB photo gallery! If you want to see more, check it out!
We were live at the venue of Nipponbashi Street Festa 2017 on 19 March 2017!Check out our photo gallery of all the…
