CURE MAID CAFE’ in Akihabara teamed up with the recently-aired anime Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku (Magical Girl Raising Project) to open a special themed cafe. The cafe will be available until January 9, 2017.
The TV anime series Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku was an adaptation of the light novel by Asari Endo and it is a survival action story where 16 magical girls throw themselves into a fierce battle for survival. The work is well-known for its unpredictable plot and the huge gap between the graceful and pretty characters, and the story’s brutal aspects. It was part of our FALL 2016 episodic anime review list.
CURE MAID CAFE´ is the very origin of the maid cafe culture. Besides a huge number of its regulars, the Tokyo cafe gets both domestic and international tourists. It’s also a popular destination for visitors on their way back from Comiket.
The cafe offers a wide variety of tea leaves, and has been officially certified by Japan Tea Association as a ‘Cafe with Tasty Tea’. The menu includes delicious dishes as well!
The Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku themed cafe is offering a special original menu faithfully modeled upon the anime’s characters and world. At the cafe, there are the characters’ original design illustrations as well as screenshots of several scenes on display.
The character-themed drinks look really pretty and their moderately-sweet flavors are easy to drink.
The drinks are 500 yen each (+tax) and are, from left to right:
「Ripple」Grenadine Syrup x Cola
「Snow White」Peach Syrup x Violet Syrup x CALPIS
「La Pucelle」Syrup x Milk x Royal Milk Tea
「Top Speed」Grape Syrup x Soda x Orange Juice
We can’t overlook the original character-themed food menu. There are a total of 5 different interesting dishes available.
Here is the food menu.
The dish wants to resemble snow using cottage cheese and scrambled eggs, and there is a plastic pick modeled on La Pucelle’s sword. The pasta has a pretty rich taste so we recommend this to both cheese lovers and fish egg lovers. It costs 900 yen (+tax)
The tomato curry resembles a witch hat with the ham, and the cheese looks like a shuriken.
As the curry has a slightly sweet and light flavor, it can be enjoyed by people who are not so keen of spicy food. The colorful vegetables make the dish pretty gorgeous too. It costs 900 yen (+tax)
The purple sweet potato in the parfait soothes both our mind and body. It has whipped cream, ice cream, pudding and fruits packed all together. It costs 580 yen (+tax)
Take a bite of the elegant, rose-shaped jelly with the whipped cream. It comes in strawberry and grape flavors. It costs 600 yen (+tax)
In addition, you can purchase Mahoiku’s special merchandise at the cafe. It’s not just Mahoiku goods though, as there are also CURE MAID CAFE´’s original goods on sale!
