Mr. Kazuki Higashiji, the scenery master, is one of the stars of P.A. WORKS, the production company behind AngelBeats!, Hanasaku Iroha, and Charlotte. The art director’s backdrops seem to draw you in; they express light in a way that dazzles you. Just look at the precise depictions of landscapes in works such as Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex and Paprika.
We went to the Kazuki Higashiji Art Directors Exhibition in Akihabara, Tokyo. The event displayed new images from the six works, AngelBeats!, Hanasaku Iroha, TARI TARI, Hanasaku Iroha HOME SWEET HOME Movie Version, Nagisa no Asukara (NagiAsu), and Charlotte.
The exhibition was held at the renovated school-turned-art-space, Arts Chiyoda
The inside was also fancy.
The view of the entrance. Mr. Higashiji’s picture suits the fashionable space well. I feel like a sigh trying to escape my mouth at this point.
The picture that dealt with the title of the event, Earth Colors.
Manaka-chan from NagiAsu. Her presence is strongly felt.
