The fourth season of JoJo’s Adventures has recently ended and the cast participated at the JoJo Event ‘Great Festival’ on February 19, 2017. They held two shows that day, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. This report is about the evening show.
The guests on-stage were Yuki Ono (Josuke Higashikata), Yuki Kaji (Koichi Hirose), Wataru Takagi (Okuyasu Nijimura), Takahiro Sakurai (Rohan Kishibe), and Daisuke Ono (Jotaro Kujo). Except for their radio appearances, the voice actors of season 4 hadn’t seen each other in 2 months. Each generation of the JoJo cast was able to overcome ‘recordings so severe they ruined their throats’, and were able to talk as though they were performing a skit right from the beginning.
The fist section was a game, where they had to guess the 5 best scenes of a specific character. The ranking was already decided through a fan vote. Places 4 and 5 were announced beforehand and the cast had to guess what the first three places were. They had to guess the scenes for Rohan and Jotaro, so their voice actors, Takahiro Sakurai and Daisuke Ono, had to give the answers. Daisuke Ono guessed all of them correctly. Ono Yuki had to guess the best scenes of Kira Yoshikage, but his guesses were all wrong. The scene in which Kira shined the brightest was from Episode 34, his ‘Someo guy was arrogant on the train, so Kira went to his house and kicked his ass without further ado-scene.’
It leaves one to wonder why that scene was popular. Maybe because it was one of the scenes that showed how bizarre Kira’s character is; he kills people as if it’s nothing.
Next, the cast had to reproduce a scene from the anime. Yuki Ono played the scene from Episode 39, where Josuke holds his bag in one hand, and Takagi mimicked Okuyasu from Episode 19, as he is winning the lotto etc. Seeing them try to move or pose like the characters made the audience break out in laughter.
Special guests were THE DU, who performed Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town, Tatsu Hoshino from batta, who performed chase and Karen Aoki and Daisuke Hasegawa, who performed Great Days (Acoustic guitar ver.)
The big highlight of the event was the live performance of the script by the cast. They performed a scene from Episode 10: Let’s go eat Italian!, and a scene from the last episode, where Reimi Sugimoto ascends to heaven. The scenes where Koichi is hunted down by Kira, and Daisuke Ono performing his oraoraoraora were masterpieces. It was a moment any JoJo fan wouldn’t want to miss.
MANGA.TOKYO recently posted about Hirohiko Araki Exhibition, Jojo Exhibition in Morioh, S-city 2017’.
In the end, Yuki Ono was in tears as he said this could be the last time that the cast members of Season 4 meet. The event closed with the cast and the musicians singing Great Days.
